Steering Stoppies

Iv'e heard people relate it to countersteering.

When I feel the tail swing left I turn the bars left but it doesn't correct the swing, it just makes it less likely to highside when it lands.

I'm rolling lil 60 footers at this point from a 30 mph roll.
How do you all do it ?

Re: Steering Stoppies

The higher you are the better you control the stoppie at balance point if you put too much into it you gotta keep with it or the bike will high side Practice str8 stoppies first roll a good 300 and you'll get the feel of how the bike is in the air

Re: Steering Stoppies

That is good advice. Heres the problem i am experiencing. I am rolling maybe a block long endo/stoppie and I have been getting better and better, but lately the *** end like to kick around on me so i have to end it early, and it hits the ground so hard it feels like its almost going to bend my wheel. i know its not hurting my wheel, but what makes the *** end swing around on me? I am on flat ground going straight. I started holding on to the handle bars tighter, and I started paying attention to body english also. I have also adjusted my suspension, but nothing is changing the *** end walkin. Please forgive me if this has been touched on before. I will check out the search function also.

I did it for you. And when your tail goes left,PUSH the left bar to turn the wheel to the right.

I do it right in my imagination. My stoppie attempts quickly become a yard sale still.

Hey Martino, what's up?

Re: Steering Stoppies

Physics wise it seems like you need to be aware of your contact patch and where between the contact patch and you is the central weight mass, and control from that vantage.

Theoretical advice from an admitted failure at any form of stunting. So take it as probably worthless.

As soon as hurting yourself becomes a sport, I will be world champion material.
