depends on your riding style. If you keep it off the bar, dont do limiter coasters, and dont rape it 12K rpm combo style, then you dont need the pickup. Ed ran his '04 for a year, highway and everything, then sold it to a friend who ran it another year, all on the same motor with no extended pickup...
good luck with it, its no 636/F4i but it will be a good nuff stunner til you get your other bikes back! LOL

I think you ride similar to me, I've never have a pickup in any bike and have been fine.

well its cheap insurance so if i can get one then i will,, but by no means am i not going to stunt the **** out of it in the mean time.. Thought the same thing about that gsxr1000 and i bombed down the highway for miles and miles at a time no worries.. oil light came on when i was slowing down for lights but the rpms were low so i wasnt worried..

no breather needed
get a cable idle adjust off a 2000 GSXR 750 (came stock on that bike) or i think one from an SV works, or an older SRAD gixxer... cause you can run it out the side and adjus the idle without having to lift the tank.

on the idle thing... use a deadblow and dent the side of the tank, then remove the side piece of plastic, and then its just as easy as a cable to turn it up......

It's all good, next one for sure. Hand is well, in a new ****ing cast so I can't tell the true status. Looks like I can ride at the show in France. I'll be good enough the hand specialist said about 4 days prior. It's been hot as a ****er here for sure but I'm going to get out to shoot the Resistance video while I'm on the injured reserve list. Would it be worth it to make it up your way or can you be some place a little more stateside? I would love to have some danger scott in the video, I'm sure you know that.

yea well let me know your most northern spot on the tour and ill grab Fish and come show you some new hotness.. Been working on a thing or two.. But with changing my bike as much as i change my socks it kinda sucks.. I wanted to be way more ahead then i am now.. FTP !!
