Tip Sensor Mod For F4i

Alright, I did the search thing and after 2 hours I still don't have an answer. I know that you have to jump the green and red wires, but will that make my headlight stop working? I was going to do it like this but it says that my headlight will quite working if I do it before the clip. If anyone can let me know I'd appreciate it. Alright heres the pics that I have but let me know as soon as possible. Thanks

Cut the red, green & white wires from the harness. Connect the red and green wires together and cover the white wire to keep it from shorting out.

Re: Tip Sensor Mod For F4i

The green wire is a ground. So basically ground the red one with the thin white stripe.

Its on the headlight harness because of its location on the bike. The circuit isnt really related to the headlight.

Re: Tip Sensor Mod For F4i

You could use a paperclip on the outer 2 pins to connect them. Then tape it up,its been fine for 3 years now and everything works fine.

So if I do it like in the pic I'll be fine? I really don't want to cut all of the wires up. Thats all I really want to know I guess, I just don't want to cut up the wires. Thanks

if ur'e taking the upper harness off, u have to paperclip them.. if u're just removing the tip, connect the 2 outside wires, cut the white

I'd advise NOT using a wire tap like in the picture. If you do, and you ever take it off.. be sure to electrical tape up the splice REAL good.. I did that and still the wire managed to eventually wear apart and my bike shut off mid coaster and I nearly had a bad wreck.

Edit: Just do like they said, get some wire/paperclip and run it in between then 2 and tape it up.

Re: Tip Sensor Mod For F4i

Well I'm not taking my upper off and I still have to use the clip so everything still works, so should I a. remove the tip sensor completely from the bike and wire the green/red together and tape off the white or b. leave the tip sensor in place and cut the green and red wires before the harness and wire them together? I appreciate the help and I'm sorry if I'm being retarded LOL. If I can't do it like the pics I'd rather just get rid of the tip sensor and wire it up.
