Sv650s

Re: Sv650s
it seems as though that would be the solution, i give up, sv's are mysteries. I think it may be that since buells have separate transmissions and the sv's are one unit the oil just flows all back into there. So on the sv you would have to overfill like crazy to have enough after it went into the transmission and it would blow the engine sitting on both wheels because the oil level would be up to the cylinders or more. And with the buells being dry sump and no internal transmission the oil isnt flowing to an extreme anywhere and the pick up on the oil tank is in a place that oil is always there. figured it all out, sv's are still garbage i suppose unless there was a "wall" between the tranny and the crank case to prevent oil flow to the back of the engine.

Re: Sv650s
I hear what your saying.... but it must of helped a little or he wouldn't have put it onto his bike. I have over 25000km on my bike and and I haven't hade a problem with my engine yet...but my friend has the same bike(05) and his engine stated knocking the other day @ 6000km, he does alot of long highway wheelies and I focous more on slow/high parking lot stuff....I don't know whats worse for the bike, I'm guessing fast highway stuff is.....
What do you guys think!!

SVS, I'm tellin' ya, 5 quarts of Silkolene and keep em whoolies under a mile. Soon as you get it up, shift, and shift and shift again, so you're riding under 6,000 rpm. Silkolene will not foam, so there is less likely to have air in your oil lines. Air is not a very good lubricant. Dizzo, madman, was running first gen. SV, not sure if he got into the newer ones yet.

Re: Sv650s
So I just changed my oil today and I ran the bike with a little extra oil. I was about an hour into the ride and my bike started to make a raddling sound comming from the engine. I was riding the way I normally ride (Whellies,Endos) so I don't know if the extra oil had anything to do with the sound comming from my engine or what???
....but I'm pissed!!!

Re: Sv650s
Hey man, this is my first post so it'll probably seem a bit random.
I've got an Sv and I'm just in the process of learning how to stunt it. I can get it up hgih and keep it for a while, but I'm just fiddling around trying to get the balancing point on it. (Still doing sit down wheelies)
Glad to know there's other people out there on the beast! :YEAH

Re: Sv650s
I believe that sound is coming from your crankshaft, the bearing got dry and the friction wore the crank loose. It's about 800 bucks for a new one I was told. Thugh I found one 3 months after I got rid of the bike for $400 with the complete bottom end. So when your engine is knocking on your door and when you open the door, the engine is gone...hold on to the bike, in time you'll find a deal.
