My F4i has a hole in the motor!

Just my luck. I guess I must have dropped a valve or something. I was moving it today, since I havent been riding it because the loud tapping sound. Well I dropped it while moving it, and after I picked it up I noticed alot of oil was on the ground. I looked through the oil and found a chunk of metal(or aluminum?) about the size of a quarter, not good. Well I got a flashlight and started to look at the motor trying to find where the oil leaked from, and I found a hole on the left side of the motor. It is above the stator cover, looks like thats where the piece of metal came from....anyone got an F4i motor for sale? I need one bad!

Re: My F4i has a hole in the motor!

exactly...it's junk the way it is.....i have a f3 that i ride back on the street as a commuter bike, it's been rocking the penny and jb weld for 2 years now, not a leak out of it LOL......it's almost as good as dumping pepper in your radiator to keep it from leaking.....( i had to do that 2 nights ago again, i can't get over how good that works....hell, i would purposely punch a hole in the radiator just to prove to you guys that it works.......well, maybe)

I totally agree...try this first before getting the new motor...i had a hole in my 900 at least the size of a half dollar...probably bigger...i jb welded all the pieces that broke together...then jb welded them into the hole...then siliconed the whole mess.....little bit of oil leakage...but nothing more...it was like that for at least 2yrs.....and that with chainsaws and all...and it never blew out...

Re: My F4i has a hole in the motor!

lol I would actually consider doing that, but something is sticking out of the hole, like a piece of metal sticking out. And now it wong even try to start, like the motor seized, I need a new motor...
