Re: Dirtbike Bar stoppies = New Class

As far as preference goes, there is a kid on www.uponone.com (can't remember his name) that rocks a mint 954 with no stabilizer for about 500ft that I could watch over and over again. Probably one of the best stoppie clips I've ever seen. I like the fact that it is on a stock bike and he rocks it so high. It just looks perfect. Britton, Rick Payne, Nags, Joe B and several more rock the fully-plasticated (there it is again) bikes and it just looks so good. I'd rather watch full plastics, but rather ride DB bars for stoppies. For everything other than stoppies and seat standers I prefer the stock setup and feel DB bars have an overall disadvantage.

You're speaking of MattL... That video hurts me to watch.. Just the thought of even rolling 100ft on my 954 with no damper gives me chills. No matter how many times Ive seen the video of him I'm ALWAYS waiting for him to crash

Re: Dirtbike Bar stoppies = New Class

just like in any other motorsport diffrent setups are required for diffrent things. if you know your goin to a longest endo contest brink a db bar bike and then ride clip ons in whatever evnent u feel the crowd would like to see a stock apearing bike. thats my o yea rick INTRO TO THE GAME was of da hook

Re: Dirtbike Bar stoppies = New Class

It shouldn't matter as far as competition goes what a bikes setup is because they are never judged completely fairly anyway.
Should an endo contest be judged on distance or style or both?
I would rather see a really high, well balanced, stylish 500ft endo than a 90mph 900 ft one that looks terrible.

HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE!

Are we really gonna start the 'cheating' thing again?

I never rolled a decent stoppie until I got a 929. I had an r6 with mx bars and couldn't do anything. Not sure what that means but you can rest assured that I only read a few of these posts and this probably sounds like jibberish so fdksnsbl tjk;ghsrbvuiagcvxsa.,/lkta/jernbvcn lfasilrilt/;;s

i think momentum has something to do with it, the heavy bike seems to plow and roll a lil better.............600= tall tall roll for any distance..............

Re: Dirtbike Bar stoppies = New Class

this seems like a plan to help the old school riders get back in the game. just because they are all hard headed and refuse change and most have got left behind. do pro golfers use the old school clubs? NO... Do all the racers still use the old 90's gixers against the new ones? NO Accept change and if you cant deal with it then just quit

636 should go in the class with the 929/954 1000's they are just as fast

then go look at who has a HB and the people that dont just run bigger gear so now break up the classes into gearing ratio's +5 then =5 to +10 and so on

this is so gay. i have seen flipped clip ons that are wider and stick up almost the same as a DB bar setup

BTW Star Wars Sucks

More power=faster approach speeds with added weight translates to more momentum. Heavier bikes at the balance point have an advantage and tend to roll farther. Faster bikes also have an advantage with limited approach.

Nags, that's funny. high rollers vs. glowing rotors

Re: Dirtbike Bar stoppies = New Class

in bmx flatland some guys use brakes and some dont.
this is the riders personel preference and all run in one class.
no brakes is obviously harder and the same trick done without brakes will probabably score higher than with.consider the standard bar trick to be a tweak version of same db trick.
leave the comps with the same format and just score differently.
in fmx,if someone lands a double backflip at the x games they will probably get gold without doing another trick.
if someone hc 12 circles on a totally stock bike, give them the gold no question.same if someone pulls off a new trick in comp.
by breaking up the classes,i think this will stop people progressing and be happy to be top of one class.also creating an elitist top class with only these guys getting sponsers.
a freestyle sport should remain one and not be sanitised by regulations.
i run db bars cos im a beginner and disabled and its so much easier,i agree with the difference.
how about a drunk fiddy class.
