Buying Used Bike Without actually seeing it
WHat's your guys take on buying a bike you can't see in person. Just pictures. Has anyone bought a bike this way before? If so any problems?

Re: Buying Used Bike Without actually seeing it
Thats how I bought my F4i... It was through a online auction, I had no idea if it would even run.... LOL
I had seen about 5 pictures of it through email, I knew the forks were messed up and it was basically streetfighter, but the tank and tail were clean...
The price was right as well

Re: Buying Used Bike Without actually seeing it
I have actually bought 3 bikes off of Ebay with just pics to go from. 2003 CBR F4I, 2001 CBR 929, and a 1999 Yamaha R6. All of which came as they were described in the auction and as seen in the pics. I guess I have been lucky with the peeps I have bought them from.

but i bought a new engine and got it all worked out. So i got a nice running bike NOW FINALLY
but forgive and forget right Paul

I have Bought A few Bikes On line and Had about 80% them Turn out
OK.
It Depends If the Person Selling it
1. Knows What he is talking About
2.Knows what He is talking about
3.Isn't a stupid Dumbazz that Doesn't Know what He is talking about
If you Read the Description and It says Easy Fix.(Probably not a good choice)
Or Motor Needs Little Work to make it Perfect.
......etc,etc

Re: Buying Used Bike Without actually seeing it
I bought my 636 just by looking at pics. I failed to notice the front end was tucked in only a few inches--i could'nt tell by the pics. It was rideable, but i ended up getting a new frame for it. Other than that no problems at all its a great bike.
Here's my old thread with pics of the tucked front end on the first post: https://www.stuntlife.com/forums/sho...t=148845<br />
All I had were these pics to go off of--it was too good of a deal to pass up--i took the risk i was like *** it. I rode around with the tucked front end for a while but got sick of non-fairings. 636 frames r only 8-900 brand new.

I bought my 929 off the internet and I knew it was going to be a lot of work but all and all it turned out to be a good deal. But after I sold it to my buddy, the freakin engine blew withint 800 miles.

Re: Buying Used Bike Without actually seeing it
I wouldn't do it. I bought one without seeing it and some how the body kit came up "missing" in transit, guy claimed someone during shipping took it off the bike and stole it..yea right. Luckily we was trading bikes and he sent his bike first so I didn't send my bike till I got everything I was told.
I'd never do it again tho, you can hide a lot of things in pictures and I never buy something off someone without listening to it run and ride it.
There's enough ppl on these boards and other sites that you can prolly find someone in the area of the bike and have them go check it out for you.
