Hand brake location?

Just wondering why people don't put the handbrake on the frontbrake side rather than the clutch side?

throttle and brake application maybe a lil challenging, not saying it can't be done or anything but more challenging and personal preference............

Re: Hand brake location?

prolly so you don't grab the wrong brake
plus where would you put the second resivour?
I use the throttle and the front brake together all the time
but a throttle and hand brake would be hard to use.

Re: Hand brake location?

I believe some have tried the thumb brake, but there is no leverage on them so it would be kinda hard to finess. They are mainly for racers to scrub a little speed off.

Re: Hand brake location?

Carmichael had his triumph setup with a handbrake on the throttle side at XDL.

didnt even have a handbrake on the clutch side.

Re: Hand brake location?

ultimate set up would be a dual input rear master and a dual caliper set up with a hb lever on both handlebars...could do switch hand stuff and have the most options possible

Re: Hand brake location?

i would switch my hb to the throttle side for 1 reason only, off the pegs coasters...

can you imagine how much easier it would be to do off the pegs coasters with your hb on the right side, and its not like its that difficult to switch your master to the right clip on when you want to do them

yeah exactly,i had a brembo thumb brake on a supermoto, useless as a proper brake,i found out they are just for racing to stabilize the pitching motion of the bike while braking/cornering and dragging the back end when gassing it out cranked over.
no good for saving a high, fast too far wheely.position is crap too cos to push it hard you pull too hard on the left bar with your fingers for leverage and you could only use it sitting down on seat.
got rid of my one in 2 days after saving for it for 6 weeks,

one of friends has that on his gsxr..He has a dual caliper bracket for one and a adapter for the other one. He did it for doing podiums or whatever you call it standing on the tank with one leg over the bars standing on the cage
