Re: liability insurance for shows

I'm wheeling and dealing with this U.S.B.W. Tour thing as far as insurance goes. Of course in a perfect world I'd have a "Blanket" insurance policy for the Urban Street-Bike Warriors Black Sheep Squadron '06 Tour and have no more hassles with this ongoing nightmare. Every one of my shows this summer is a different situation as far as Insurance goes from borrowing someone else's to none at all. The stakes are very very very high and the pressure in incredable.

The Mayport Florida Military show that were were supposed to do on Friday just got cancelled a few hours ago. The morale being that you can have your game 100% tight but there is always the "Promoter Factor". Meaning chances are some idiot promoter or the US military is going to mess it up.

It's all good.

Re: liability insurance for shows

I help with the organizing of CC shows here in Canada. We were paying $1500 CDN (only $1 million liability) for events that didn't have the stunt show covered in their Event Insurance. Performing at Government shows requires minimum $2 mill.
This year I have been quoted $750 per event (including "weekend" shows where the team performs 2-4 shows). It is through a subsidiary of Lloyd's of London. PM me if you would like more info.

These are only liability policies and of course offer zero protection for the riders themselves or for their bikes.

Easiest thing I found was to ask the organizer of the event (especially where the show is only a part of a larger event) to name the team as additional insured in their existing policy.

Re: liability insurance for shows

you guys have it made in the US, here in Australia we need between $10million and $20 Mill, (thats Aus$, so its about $7-15mil US) PL Insurance cover. we cant have any off shore Insurance companys and we cant be listed on the promoters Cover.
We got it bad!! real tight over here.

I suppose so...but if you look at the fact that gas is way more expensive than there, I wouldn't bet...
