If you smoke after you get them out you will get dry sockets. Which hurt like a *****. I was ready to go out that night. I stumbled out the door of the dentist and threw my gauze out and started demanding the keys so I could drive to taco bell.

Had mine pulled out at 17yrs old. Got a bunch of percocets from the dentist. The good ol days. Was so high off those pills I felt like I was flying all the time.

I felt fine after I got mine pulled..........i came home and crashed out for a couple hours....felt fine when I woke up but still chilled out htat night...the next night I went out smoking and drinking ....then did it consistantly and got dry sockets. Yea the **** sucked..........but they said dont smoke for a month and I couldnt do that. So ya **** sucks but **** it...........the whole experience wasn't to bad for me.

i have a high pain tolerance but for whatever reason i hate mouth pain i can't stand it. i've still got all my teeth

If you get dry sockets you'll feel pain instantly in your mouth!!! That's why they tell you not to chew anything gummy or **** on straws, b/c if you pull the packing out with the stitches it's like having your nerves and jaw directly open to food and other bacteria. It'll get infected VERY quickly. My friend had dry sockets and he said it was the worst pain he ever felt. Suggestion: Just relax for a couple more days (5-7days is usually fine) and just stay on whatever meds you want that makes the pain go away. After 5-7 days, the stitches will be healing pretty well, but atleast you can go stunt and $hit. Just take it easy still though on what you chew and **** on straws or whatever really easy. Seriously, you'll hate life if you get dry sockets!!!

i've been trying to be really careful about not sucking on stuff, and hopefully i can get it all healed, seems like the top are already healed completely almost its just the bottom that are still taking a while.

A good sign that they are healed is when the stitches fall out. Once the stitches fall out or disolve you are golden.
