Stoppie damages. can this be the culprit?
Well, I have an 04 gix 1000 and I weigh 270lbs. Do you think doing stoppies will make my front knock when you grab the brake ( not moving) and rock it forward and back and you hear a knocking sound.
Do your guys **** do that?
I thought it was the floating rotors but nope, its the steering head bearing, etc...
If your a little guy I doubt it but I could be wrong... But for the big dudes here that stoppie, does your knock form the stoppies?

On my R6 I had to tighten the steering bearings every 1000 miles or so because they came loose quick from rolling lots of stoppies. So far no problems on this gixxer I have now, but we'll see.
It shouldn't take you more than 20 mins to fix it.

get a manual and tighten the adjuster nut. or you may want to go ahead and get new bearings and races to throw in there while you're at it since your races are probably shot if it is to the point of clicking and you're still doing stoppies.... your steering head bearings will loosen up over time no matter how much you weigh. stoppies and wheelies will expediate the process though. don't mean to be mean but it's the air in y'alls head that's causing the clicking not the weight in your britches.
