vortex gas caps
ok i have been looking for VORTEX gas caps on ebay and there a fuggen ripp off, my mate bought one at stuntwars for $40. does anyone know where i can get one around that price?

color has faded from black to dark grey on mine, doesn't leak yet, but a-holes keep over tightening them so they are a ***** to get off when you are getting low on gas....and thats messing up the threads, so now it doesn't tighten like it used to.......next person to over tighten it is gettin a purple nurple for sure!!!!
Mine has served its purpose, but it was like $90..........there is a new one out that the cap is smaller and works more like some car gas caps, two **** that fit into grooves and pull tight as you turn it! Only problem is, they are like $250!!!!!!!!

when i first put one on my kawi it didnt vent properly and cause the dent in my tank to explode outwards and cracked the paint and bondo on a 2 days old paint job... highly upset..
had to remove the inner ball bearing.. after that all is good.. doesnt leak anymore either

usually when people buy a vortex cap/base it's because the stock gas cap bottoms out from a serious caved-in tank. And that leaves the cap not sealing correctly and your gas flows out when doing stoppies and wheelies.

but i have a vortex on mine and it works good. but +1 on b1tches overtightening it
and be carefull, cause they cross thread very easily. ive seen one of my friends have he cross threaded on and we had to destroy the thing gettin it off

I got one on my gixxer... got it off e-bay. Good luck getting a cheap one, mine wasn't... but it was still cheaper than retail and it was worth it.
I never had anyone overtighten, just watch out for people stealing the cap cuz I had a few friends have them go missing.
Did you break the 3 posts on the outer ring of your stock cap when you bashed it in? That's what I did with my f4i too. I got another stock cap that was busted, and drilled out the pin and swapped the outer rings. Now the stock cap is fixed... leaks a bit cuz of the smashed tank, but not badly

cool i guess ill have to fork out the cash and get one off ebay....
the whole thing smashed hahaha the ring on the outside and the bottem centre lock smashed aswell,

the 1/4 turn caps are the ****.i forgot who makes them though.
i hate my vortex, i have to take all the bolts out to put gas in cause it locked up when i was unscrewing the cap.
