Re: who use stock triple for dirt bars?

another question
did you have to lower the forks with the f4/f4i?
because they come so far out on top

Re: who use stock triple for dirt bars?

I know a few guys here who have drilled the stock triples. One guy on a 900rr with renthal fatbars just crashed hard last week, bike flipping end over end, and the bars are still 100% straight and the triple is intact. The cage didn't make it though. I thought the bars would have ripped right out, but they held up, so looks like it's ok to do it

Another guy here runs some euro aftermarket triples, and man do they look the business. They weren't cheap though so I dunno if it's worth it after seeing how well the stock ones held up

Where's the best place to get a good deal on the new triple/bar combo? I appreciate all you guys saying drilling the stock triple was strong enough..but I'm kinda skeptical...so I'll just spend a few bucks and do it right.

Thanks Boxer! Your pictures were exactly what I was looking for. I think I might give those risers a try after all.

Re: who use stock triple for dirt bars?

Is there that huge of a difference in swith from clips? I mean the only thing i could see is turning the bike on slow **** and o's... But then again i see just as many folks with clips doing o variations as DB bar folk.
