Re: hand brake from stunt factory

get a radial master of ebay, you can get a new R1 or 1000rr for like $75. Then get an adapter from gp tech for $55 and then a line will run you around $50. So for about $200 you have the same kit but with a much better mastercylinder.

Which adapter will I need to get off of GP Tech? I need to get a handbrake as well, and I am trying to go about this the cheap way too.

Re: hand brake from stunt factory

I just picked up some adaptors from "sheetone" on this site. He just made a batch so grab one. Then you just need a MC and line...

+1 Ive rode both and I like dual caliper much better
its more $$ than the adapter, but cheaper than full throttle

Re: hand brake from stunt factory

i got a fullthrottle with a brembo 19 x 18 race MC....Definantly not as powerful as i'd expected. It is not possible to lock up the tire with one finger. I haven't tried any other handbrake set up so i dunno.... However, i've been hearing that 1000RR and other stock radial MC can lock up the rear tire with just one finger. The fullthrottle matched to a 1000RR is what Mana runs and it seems to be working out just fine. I think i'm just relying too much on the brake and not really focusing on my throttle control. Then again, i've never faded or boiled my brakes. There's another thread somewhere that talked all about the different MC, like the brembo 16 x 18 which was designed for single calipers. Good read.

I've seen one guy run a stock conventional MC straight to the rear caliper...eliminating the foot brake. That by far is the cheapest you can get. He wasn't even using SS braided lines..... I have no idea how good it works cuz this guy is not skilled.

Re: hand brake from stunt factory

wow...i just realized my post had nothing to do with the topic of this thread. Sorry, i don't know anybody who runs the stunt factory set-up. My advice is you get what you pay for....and i believe that the key is what MC you choose. Don't get a brembo race 19 x 18 or 19 x 20. They work really really well for the front...but not the back.

Its cause hes not using the right master cylinder. You have to get a radial 16 X 18 mm to push only one caliper.

Re: hand brake from stunt factory

i'm running the stunt factory HB kit on my 636, works great no real problems with it, only took 20 min to have it ready for the street. I orginally had a dual caliper setup done up on my bike, then the bracket broke off on me and kinda scared me. So untill i find a company out there that will start making dual caliper brackets i am rockin the SF kit.
