Hand Brakes

Howdy ...just thought I'd ask to see what kind HB set ups dudes are running. Post pic if you got em etc:YEAH

I recently got my F4 and am really wanting a HB but am not sure which option to go for like the clip that lets you use one caliper or sticking another caliper on. I've even heard of dudes using blackbird calipers cos they can connect to 2 lines.

I also wanna see the pics to see how people have set them up on their bars, I'm thinking I might need aftermarket clip-ons cos there is F all space on my stock F4 bars.

So yeah, any info or pics on which hand brake master you have and how you set it up. You guys have probably been asked this too many bloody times so I apologies but I couldn't find what I wanted when I searched the forums.

Peace.

Re: Hand Brakes

Thanks Ironlung! So it looks like your clip-ons are stock with the switch gear removed to make room. Don't know if I'll fit mine on cos I need to keep the switch gear on. (I ride my stunt bikes to work everyday so need lights n indicators n sh*t haha) I might get some aftermarket clip-ons that are longer though. Also thanks for that link pineaple..some good info in that thread!

www.gptechllc.com

cheapest HB out, works GREAT, i can lock my rear with one finger with a normal 03-04 636 front brake master, no need for radial mount or anything!

ask for geoff and tell him i sent you over and he'll hook you up with a good deal on a stunt kit (adapter, line, bajos and washers, everything you need except the master)

Re: Hand Brakes

John, what did you use for a lever and master? Did you get it all from GPtech? I was looking at buying the kit from somebody, but it did not have the lever or master,

Thanks
Tim

lever and master is a STOCK 03-04 636 unit flipped up-side-down. works PIMP!!! GSXR, R6, actually a lot of front brake masters with remote res., work great too!

here's some pics, not the best but it's all i have right now

thanks, yeah over here at LEGION we've been doing that for about two years, people are just catching on! LOL if you can grab the end of a FULL lever, you have a great leverage ratio on the master... basically it means you dont have to pull as hard to get the same result with the rear brake! works PIMP and is very easy to modulate the amount of braking force.

i mean using it normal, no need for a "hella" grip, yes, using the end of the lever... where you ALSO have the most feel. one inch from the master is going to be hard and have to feel/feedback.

I did the same thing with my MC. it's really nice. just loop one finger around it and there's way better feel....and this is with a gaabage 01 R6 MC on my system. I'm getting another MC soon, definitely something radial.

I'd like to try a radial but mine works sooo good that i haven't had a reason to shell out the money and do the work to try it. Ed LEGION got a cbr radial mount and it honeslty fely NO better at all then our current setup and just was harder to find room to mount it cleanly. Like i said, i want to try it, we'll see, but i dont think im going to change what has been working!
