don't know anything about buell's or v-twin stunting... but on an inline 4 cylinder, with stock gearing you LOWER the idle (well lower than you would have it if you did have gearing... i run about 2500-3000 on a 636 with gearing and 2000 without it... 1400 on the 1000 with no gearing for circles)

you run a very low rpm and use the brake as little as possible...

HAHAHA, actually i preffer a good amount of gearing on my stuntbike,-2+10. It gives me a lot of engine break for faster stuff and makes playing around with slow stuff easier (by playing around i mean goofing off and playing to the crowd etc)

BUT for the street you need to have a bike that is near stock with gearing. SOOOOO much fun! (riding a -2+10 bike on the street is basically never fun except in the city... but then there is the 35 mile ride to GET to the city! LOL)

you're pickin up 3rd gear sreaders on a 636 with stock gearing?!?!?! you must weigh 90 lbs.! I have -1 front on my 04 636, im 200 lbs, 2nd gear is pretty easy, 3rd there is no chance (i can pick up 3rd then jump to spreader, but not straight up while on the tank!!!) and i've been clutchin up wheelies and spreaders for years so i'd like to think im pretty good at it!

+6 instead of +12 is 6 LESS teeth in the rear... which would be LESS engine braking... i think you worded that wrong...

I think he was just saying he was gonna put on the +6 to get a little more engine break thaen stock... instead of the +12 that he had on there before that he hated which was the reason he went back to stock.
