I need advise on my bike setup

I have an 04 GSXR 600 and I want to start stunting. Nothing to crazy, just some slower standups. I want a cage and a 12 bar (Freestyle Ingenuity) but I'm not sure what gearing I should use. I still want to be able to ride on the streets when I'm not stunting and don't want to loose all my top end. Would a stage 2 gearing set work for me or should I go with the street stunting set. Also where can I pick up all the things I need for a good price?

Thanks

Re: I need advise on my bike setup

get your subframe reinforced A LOT, it bends like tin foil without. +10 gearing is decent.

Re: I need advise on my bike setup

-2 sounds good but i think a +2 rear is a waste of money. Front sprokets are CHEAP, get a -1, -2, and -3 (All will fit with the stock rear and chain) and try each, but if you still want to rock decent on the street you'll prolly want no more than the -2. that would be fine for learning BP, rear brake control and how to slow down wheelies.

I'm well aware that I'm not going to just start throwing down circle wheelies just because I changed some ****. My Bike is far from minty, I just want to protect it the best i can since it's my only bike.

Re: I need advise on my bike setup

Can you still use the oil pickups when your just riding around or should you only use a pickup on a bike that you only use for stunting?

Im still not sold on the idea that a stuntbike needs an oil pickup! Only blown two motors, one cause i did a burnout while the bike was on the bar (DUMBA$$) and two cause i was doing high RPM spreaders down the highway on an already hurt gix1000...

With the HB you can keep Rpm's low and therefore save you motor... went all last season and most of the '04 season on the same gix 600 motor which are notorious for blowing... i just think it's the rider and riding style, not the motor!

What he is saying may be true, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

$60 oil pickup

$800+ for a motor

your choice..

It also makes the bike run smoother for wheelies on idle.

I hear ya and agree, better safe than sorry. Im just too lazy to get the pickup and to put it in! LOL

Now if a company was going to give me one... i would definately run it and promote them!
