Bloody Tank slappers!

I was minding my own buisness riding down to the spot and i thought id hammer it down this hill. Go to the bottom doing bout 120 km then bang out of nowhere tankslapper. i rode it out to bout 70 km then whent flying sliding down the road.. Does anyone know why i would have got tankslappers i think there could have been a pothole but i havent been back yet to have a look.

Re: Bloody Tank slappers!

Yeah could be lots of reasons, low tire pressure makes my bike pretty shaky over 100,

Re: Bloody Tank slappers!

your front tire could be low on tread, which makes the front wobble a little as hit gets lower

Re: Bloody Tank slappers!

when u hammerd it you prolly brought the wheel up n inch and u had to be pulling on the bars and when the wheel came back down it was alittle crooked and thats how u get a slapper... learn to take weight off your arms when accelerating and use your legs/knees to hold/grip the bike. keep it cool with your new gearing till u get use to it and heal up buddy!
