anyone stunt 98-01 r1
I just bought an 01 r1 worth the money and thought I might stunt it for a while. I figured it would be awsome for the highway, but I did not know about slow stuff. Anyone have an opinion, it would help.

Right hurr.
It's allright. I like the 1000 power. Until I'm into some really advanced ****, I don't think I'll do the 600 thing.
Tank is a ***** to dent.
Subframe is welded on.
weak upper and fairing in general.

Have to get used to them...Friend of mine was doing real good on a stock 99 R1 and then went to a ZX10 to a 954 and his wheelies are GAABAGE now...he said the ZX was too fast and the 954 is real light and fast. I have no problems with the 02-03 R1's...

Fix the R1 up if its a wreck and sell it for $5500 and buy a F4i for like $3000 and stunt the hell out of that. It will pay off in the long run. Older R1's are good everyday street bikes. If you want to get serious in the sport I would sell it.

I don't really do stoppies, but I hear they are crap for them. But the R1...It's the only thing I really know. I've had this bike and a '96 ZX6R. I could wheelie the 600 way better on the highway, but I never 12'd it. The R1 is wiggly on the highway, but feels like a rock in 12's. (I run the idle @ 3500) I like the 1000 power. If a chop rider like myself can rock it, I'd love to see how I'd do on a 600.
I'd say with the exception of V-twins, a bike is a bike as far as stunting goes. Any of the big 4 jap 600-1000cc's are very stuntable, and there are guys out there rockin' everything. The R1 just kinda came along, so that's what I ride.
If it turns out to be a 'hard bike to stunt' I'll be all that much better when it's time for something new.
