after market clip ons???

I've seen some talk bout the vortex mounted upside down and some others. I'm wonderin what people are doin...I want to get a wider grip with out putting DB bars on, there cool just dont like the way it looks. I'm putting them on a 03 gsxr 600 so they are under the top plate. has anybody lowered the front to mount on top of the triple, if so howd it work out for ya...

I tryed to search a thread where they were talkin about them being straight or angled. guess that would just be a preference thing. did you mount your upside down?

I have vortex clipons on my bike (02 f4i) that are swapped and flipped on a 929 front end and it works fine. if u toss ur bike alot, they wouldnt be a good idea due to the fact that the bars bend easily and u will replace them often...

Re: after market clip ons???

I broke my right clip on last week, so i got some aftermarket, first i got harris, they were a 6 degree angle (my stock were 8 degrees), but they mounted below the triple clamp, and were to low for my taste, i didnt think about flipping them or wwhatever, so i sent them back and ordered some freestyle ingenuity, they are at zero degrees and mount on top of the triple like stock. I havent got them on but i think theyll be good. anyone have Fi clipons?

Re: after market clip ons???

i got a set of woodcraft clip ons, and i love them. i bought them so i could keep my left controls after i put on my handbrake. the bars are alot longer then stock, wider grip. With the wider grip i'm finding that rolling endo is much more comfortable, and when doing standup i don't feel so cramped.

Re: after market clip ons???

Well i got my FI clipons on, and tried it out. Also put a scotts damper on. The fi clipons feel so much different than the stock that its gonna take a little getting used to, but i think ill like em better. I didnt think 8 degrees would feel that different but it does. I only rode for a few mins, tomorrow ill get to break them in and get the feel.

Re: after market clip ons???

i love my vortex clip ons.. but the real trick is to replace the hollow tube with a solid 1" alimunim bar.. doesnt bend as easy... and cheaper

Re: after market clip ons???

FI Clipons!!! do yourself a favor and get them!

kane - i would be worried about breaking the clamp instead of just having the tube bend from using solid tube
