99 900 is what i learned on great bike, just have to get it to run at 12 or close to it(for merk steps or bar tricks) and then your set. also get some subframe braces, there not real weak but if you screw up and hit hard to many time's they can crack or break

I had a 98 with -1 +7, -1 +23 and -1 +15. I liked the -1 +15 the best.

96 had the shortest wheel base great for wheelies. I had a 99 with -2 and a 58 tooth. Worked awesome.

Re: stunt a 96 900RR

900RR's are indestuctable. ive dropped mine so many times and the ony thing that went wrong was a slightly tweaked subframe. the motors seem to be bulletpoof.

Re: stunt a 96 900RR

plenty of ppl still stunt them...THE OG ride right there.

Yea no FI for any of the big CBRs.

I hear theyre the best for learning...their heavy weight can actually work as an advantage because it makes them more stable, it also helps carry the bike further in coasters and stoppies...plenty of power...super smooth...and theyre straight gangstar.

+1 when was learning and things went bad i just bailed off the back and just let the bike topple. Only broke stator covers.

Re: stunt a 96 900RR

The 900rr should be in the stunting hall of fame. That bike was the foundation for almost every "old school" rider. It is the swiss army bike. It'll do everything and do it well. Plus, there is nothing like the sound of a double R.
I'm getting all misty over here just thinking about it.

Oh, and my original double R from 1999 had over 75k on it with the stock clutch before Woods blew the motor after a 5 minute rev limiter session.

Re: stunt a 96 900RR

I joke with Tim Barnes about the RR FI cage being "The motormount eliminator series"

Unfortunately, it's just a weak spot on the bike and it is what it is.
