its a big world out there, things that go down on stuntlife and with one event dont matter as much as some people on here seem to think.
yes but like its said before if the competition of all our competitions cant run smooth then how the hell can we ever make far enough to go to the x games i know if i would have paid my hard earned cash (which i did 2 of the three days) i would want my cash back when the the fist of one of two things A. the track blew nuts big time, B. the organization and C. some of the best riders didnt make individual aka hes my friend so im throwing this out Rick Payne in his qualifying you didnt see one circle why because the sport is more than the newest trick out dont get me wrong but does anyone see a problem with one of the best riders in the sport doesn't get to ride dude to the fact the judging was so squed all he had to do is go out and do seat stander circles thie full run and would have been runner up. Don't thinking im hating on anyone the the OG riders are kick *** circles are awesome but its just retarded to not have someone that makes the fans go damn

alot of people on here have jobs but why not hope or dream? you should just die then if you dont have a hobbie or a dream, thats what makes life happy to be living...

mostly everyone that has ever made it a life long goal are the ones that have already tried it as a "hobbie" or "dream" if people never tried at all there wouldnt be an stunt or any type of job to begin with. alot of things are expensive when its a goal cause you really dont look at how much your spending untill you look back at all that you've done. atleast someone is doing something they love and getting paid for it some how even if they have to work another job, hell some love the sport so much they could care less if they got paid.

Re: what happened to the colbert thread?

Well put but this is just a hobbie to me. Other than that, i do shows and get paid. But i ain't trying to stress about a comp that in my eyes is worthless to attend to because of it's conditions. Also the drive for me is over the top.

I'm not sure about in any other states but the riders in Texas are close. The get togethers we throw are mad fun. As long as im having fun, then that is all that matters to me.

Re: what happened to the colbert thread?

I can't say that I'm ever expecting to get paid in any way. There are people out there who are all about getting sponsorship, these people won't even stunt the streets for fear of their "sponsors" hearing of it and pullin out. It's fun, that's about what it amounts to. The 4th in a line of hobbies that I have given my all to, but this one is more fitting than the rest, so I will keep it until I can't ride any more.

We don't have a real tight group here, there's a few seperate crews around, mostly squids, but they seperately talk smack about the others for whatever reason. Bunch of drama queens.

Re: what happened to the colbert thread?

Sport - Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively.

why does everyone want stunt riding to be that ^^

i personally dont like rules or competition(specificly contests) to be involved in the things that i love. i always considered riding to be about freedom. all this bullshit with trying to get it to the x games is just taking away from the fun of it.

who wouldnt want what they love to do become socially acceptable and receive national exposure. most people on the streets think were ****** because of the way we ride. it was the same thing with skateboarding in the 90's we were so called "outcasts" gettin kicked out of every spot we went now look at it tony hawk is a house hold name and skateboarding is a multibillion dollar industry. would that have happened without the x-games broadcasting it to millions of peoples homes? i doubt it. stuntin will get there some day but its gonna take time and a professional aproach from the people at the top of this "sport". dont mind my poor spelling.

tony hawk is a sellout, sorry let me explain what i mean so i dont sound like a complete *******. tony hawks is an extremely talented and dedicated skater. but hes a brand name, he has no respect among real street skaters, none of us bought his hawk brand shoes(thats why the company went under) and no one but little kids buys birdhouse skateboards. if money and fame is what is important and what you want to accomplish through riding then i guess we just ride for diff reasons.

Tony Hawk is a sell out? he's done so damn much for his sport its not even funny, he is a household name bringing his sport to an otherwise never seen market. i call him an innovator! he didnt sell out he bought it. little kids by his clothes and u call that dumb! haha **** the day little kids are given little 905 cages for their toy bikes... whew.. thats a grand day in my world... that means weve made it.

i assume that you are a skater.. well the core skater kids can ***** moan and cry all they want and debate forever how he sold out, (might as well include bam margera in there as well) but reality is... they did whatever they had to or wanted to, in order to continue living their dream the way that made them happy while supplying finacial success to their program.

you think any person out there wouldnt do the same damn thing in a heartbeat? 'specially us broke *** stunters.. haha

damn rights. where do i sign up, and what do i have to do!?
