Re: acrobatics on a f4i?

i can't really explain it, while stunting does include acrobatics, it isn't something that you're doing with the bike, you're just on it.

while i appreciate the skill and dedication it takes, it's just not something i'm interested in doing myslef. If you see someone doing circles on the street everyone thinks wow hes good, next guy does a christ or skitch and everyone thinks he's an attention ***** douchebag..

So when you say "everyone" thinks he's a douchebag... do you mean one person says it's gay and all the sheep hanging round go "baaa baaaa" ?

acro's look pretty difficult to do, as already said you need: big *****, commitment, balance, skill, agility, strength... IMO you need a higher number of skills to do it properly.

Rock the fu(k on all the acro guys... it's a direction to push things so why not push it ? :YEAH

big up to anyone who trys something new!

Very well put.

I think any top rider would agree that you need a little of everything to compete and "WOW" a crowd in todays stunt world. Schwartz explained this to me pretty well one day. You need the four major stunt groups....Wheelies, stoppies, burnouts, and acro's. Being able to do a little of everything will make you one hell of a rider.

when i perform at stuntshows I try my hardest to do a large variety of tricks and pull out everything from the bag, old and new. (depending on the given area) I enjoy throwing in difficult acro tricks, acid drops, hand stand, switchbacks they are a lot of fun, ballsy in 99.9% of the stuntshow areas im ever given and actually get my adrenaline going more of the time then any other routine trick ie: circles, long endos, combos.

I can combo up and down the bike 30x blindfolded very routine.. but a switchback handstand at a crowd/rider infested 300ftx 30-40ft stuntshow.. ya thats a rush.

plus the crowd always sees something you dont. each person in the crowd has their own opinions and takes home a different experience then everyone else. by doing a large variety your more likely to impress everyone, with something. all it takes is that something and that will send a person home talking positive.

you neglect to include say a christ air (which is most stunters ONLY attempt at acro.. ever) and some people WILL leave the show saying: "ya they were ok, feet over circles are kewl and all but i didnt see em stand on the bike.. i know this guy that..." get my point!? like it or not.. its the truth.

Re: acrobatics on a f4i?

stunting: acro-burnouts-wheelie-stoppies
is possible on anything (look at J-bling)

majority of stunters are very unoriginal monkey-see monkey-do riders.
they buy an f4i cause someone else has it and can do this, that or whatever
they only try tricks that someone else has already done, so that they know its possible
(which i think is a good thing)

acro tricks from a bystander veiwpoint, are scary looking, dangerous, and ballsy. it takes a lot of self confidence to do an elevator and most people can come up with a million reasons why they dont do it.. while the fact is.. fear. wrecked at 30mph from an elevator hurts 100x more then highsiding any circle.

gorka said it best

Bottom line here the guys that cant and wont do acro's for fear of getting hurt think they are gay (good cover up for your own insecurities) the guys that can do them realize the reward or consequence from success or failure
either they are part of the whole stuntriding game and always will be. And for anyone who thinks guys that do acros cant do wheelies is very narrow minded i can learn any circle combo or any type of wheelie in a day.

Ok that covers the guys that dont do them for fear of gettign hurt.

Now what about the guys who have absolutely no interest in doing them regardless?

When I see someone do a handstand, I think "Why would anyone want to do that?" It just doesnt seem fun to me. Im not gonna say that all acros are gay, thats a little overboard, but I can definitely see why people would feel that way.

boom right there %100 right
all the guys hateing on acro sayin *** your acro, your acro is gay, cant even atempt to do an elevator so they hide behind circle wheelies and think there top **** when truth be told you cant even handle a liter bike let alone pul off a crowd pleasing show by your self, hell i tried doin a just a slow show i got no cheers people walked off so i grabbed my 929 and hit somw acro 2 mins later the crowd is clapping and cheering and more people came to watch i look at it like this : what got all the stunt hype goin yrs ago? paulie/lvx wink style tricks did you can sit there and say acro is gay all day mean while i'm gon on 6 video apperances, free bike ,free trailer, constant cash flow coming in ,many many helpfull real sponsors tons of good friends in the industry and all without doin a single circle to speak of bottom line do whats fun and what gets the job done not what joe blow is doin cuz joe blow dont pay your bills

to me a hand stand is a real ''stunt'' tech falls in that grey area of technicaly a stunt or somthing like that. i knwo i sound bias and i probly am but damn your on a 100-140 hp bike but yet all you do is stay in first gear and spin around i mean where's the ''show '' in that where's the stunt aspect come in at?

oh dotn get me wrong on the ''tech is hard to learn part'' it can be a real ***** but btu thats just it anyone can learn tech with minimul risk and you dont have to really be in shape or even wear gear for that matter ''for most''
this is just my take on things ,i'm nto speaking for other's i guess mainly it would be nice if there was sone mutual respect thrown around each is hard in it 's own ways, but untill you atleast give some real acro a try stfu! imo

comparing a christ to a circle is silly... cant compare entry level acro to advanced level circle.

christ is to acro - what power whullie is to wheelie.
at least compare some of the more difficult acro to a more difficult wheelie.

ie: a christ air to backflip to rear ski is a much more impressive AND HARDER than any circle wheelie. IMO

take that kid u speak of and see if he can learn a switchback acid drop in a week... chances are its a no.

i can name 100 people that can do circles but CANT do a handstand.
