heres the situation... we did a show for a local event for free last year cause the organizer said there was no money, witch is fine but they have invited us back this year and we have found out that there is a crap load of money going though the event now. We still have not got any offer of money. we no longer want to hurt or bikes for money but we don't want to burn any briges either.

What should we do???

ask if you can get some money for it? tell em you need to fix up the bikes a bit or get new helmets. something you cant do the show without.

tell em last year you did it for exposure and that this year your moving up and making a business out of it

no, you can make money selling apparel, DVD's, stickers, holding events, etc which all involve stunting in some way or another...

Be careful... You might get yourself blown out alltogether. We could never charge for shows in the area because as soon as we said we wanted money some other group would steop up and say they would do it for free.

Be tactful and diplomatic. Explain just how good you guys are, explain the value you would bring to thier event and why you are better than ANYONE else for that particular show and why they should pay you at least a small fee.

Hey do you love riding? Would you have fun doing a show foir a bunch of people for free? Would it **** you off? Do you ride to get paid of ride cause you love it?

To someone who rides for money. No, DONT DO THE SHOW unless they pay up.
If you ride because you love to ride and love to show off in a controled legal spot.. DO IT FOR FREE...

Either way, feel them out and see what they say. If they are WAY against it when you approch them, back off and go ride. If they sound 1/2 way ready to listen, hit em up!

i'll put it this way....you do this show for free....you will do EVERY show for them for free....either stand up to them or walk away.

Back in the Loose Cannon days we started requesting money for shows and never did a show again...
There were so many other groups who would do one for free.

thank you for all your insight boys. I got a meeting with the oranizer this week. i'll see how it goes and then I'll be back for more advice.

Just dont ask for too much or you'll get underbid, likely by someone who'll do it for free... If you do it for free, it's exposure for you, and a place to legally ride.

Tell them what your usual price is, and then say, "because we have a history with this event, we'll do it for 'Cheaper amount' just to cover our costs."

if they tell you they can't pay up, tell them you'll still do the show, But in the future you hope that they can sponsor your group somehow.
