fucck fi cages

Re: fucck fi cages
seems like these cage threads start after someone hasn't gotten a response from the people who make the cages
.......I started a thread just like it over a fairing stay that I couldn't get a response ... 1/2 responded flaming, 1/2 responded opinions one way or the other...in the end, it did catch their attention and got the job done.
a manufacturers worst enemy should be public, negative reviews
I know stuntwars is coming up and the riding season is starting up soon , so production is high right now, but companies need to answer phones, return calls, or hire a temp. to do it if they are that busy. alot of the time, person to person contact would prevent company bashing like this
As for cages.....some can bash shins, some can break mounts, and there has been threads about almost every cage "falling apart"......if its due to faulty welds or steel, its a simple fix if you know how to weld or know someone who can do it for you.
Personally I FEEL that F.I. cages work better for riders that are farther along and know how to wreck without destroying the bike(Dan Jackson, Darius, ..........), and really hard drops could destroy any cage if hit right, especially drops when learning and dropping from stop and 12 directly on a side....I've seen 2 F.I. cages destroyed like this, and some nasty damage to my 905 cage from the same thing.
Hope you get whatever response you need and everything resolves itself, and also hope noone doesn't buy a product based on one persons frustrated thread.....afterall, if people want this to get bigger and more mainstream, these companies need to become/remain successful.

Re: fucck fi cages
i've been harder on my FI cage then anyone I've seen ride. I've broke bolts, striped threads, and snapped the plastic sliders but all the weld are strong as rock. mine is the old type and mabey thats the difference though.
I've never had any other cage but I've never had a problem with FI.
Plus they replaced my friends 12 bar for free without even seeing any pics.

Re: fucck fi cages
I run an FI Bar and Cage on my CBR919 and due to seeing many an engine block get smashed by the cage bolt braking out I had new mounts welded onto the frame problem solved. watched the bike go down many times and its holding out just fine....
Just bought a 905 Cage and FI Bar for my CBR954, haven't thrown it down yet from what I have seen 905 cages appear to be the goods...

Re: fucck fi cages
yeah i am guilty of starting a cage poll a while ago, only cuz i wasnt sure what to buy. after seeing that 1/100 products can possibly have defects and no matter what cage you buy it will still do its job and protect your bike and does have the ability to break, i just went with what i see all the pros using and thats freestyle ingenuity. i'm kinda new to the whole goin slow thing so i've beat the hell out of it and so far so good. that company is really reputable just friggin call em and i would be flabbergasted if they didnt help you in some way.

Cages all have there ups and downs... Every fall is different....
Now customer service is a different case... Hope these companies start hiring extra people to handle customers/problems better.... I think the problem is that most of these companies know who is who and who isn't.... We need average joe answering the phones so they take every customer the same!!!
