Re: Freestyle Ingenuity's New Cage Designs!

Maybe that it's the off season or something, but I ordered an f4i cage and had it within a week.

Any other time I ordered an FI cage it took at least a month to receive.

I'm not complaining!! :YEAH

I think they new cage is awesome, I know its a lot stronger, but it still looks kinda frail to me. Unless I got a super phat hookup, I'll stick with 905.

Re: Freestyle Ingenuity's New Cage Designs!

i should be getting my new style 954 cage. i will post up pics and lay it down on teh side and what not so you can all see. FI is the bomb. bent a pwers, it did do its job, but gotta cut em off when they get real tweaked and you cant bend them back like you can an FI loop or buy spare parts!

Re: Freestyle Ingenuity's New Cage Designs!

Did FI change the f4i cage too? Just about to order a fi cage for an f4i, 900rr and an r1 but was told they didnt change the fi cage for these bikes so normal one would be sent out? Seems reasonable enough but thought I'd double check.

Re: Freestyle Ingenuity's New Cage Designs!

Well... I just got a new FI for the f4i and it dosen't look any different than the old ones... besides the new FI stickers on the strut arms.

I had been wondering if I got shafted w/ an old design cage...

Who told you that??

Not saying who just yet, he might be on this forum and I don't want him getting wrong idea or anything, I'm not doubting him as such, just curious... as we're ordering from the UK so it'll be hard to send back if it was wrong or so on... if yours looks the same then hes probably right and they didn't revise it

the f4i cages were not re-done because the original design is flawless! I was at FI when they were playing around with re-designing the F4/F4i cage, and really it does not need any modifications.... it is rock solid!!!

So, to answer your question, the F4/F4i cages are the same as they have been, not changes to them at all.

If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me

Happy New Year,
Big Scott

Re: Freestyle Ingenuity's New Cage Designs!

I just got the new FI cage for my 929 and it went on with ease and is really one with the bike. I like the look. And I am sure I will have plenty of footage for everyone who wants to see who well it holds up. Here are some pics for the 929 peeps.

It goes really close to the generator cover. Billet generator cover is a good investment. Or put some rubber hose over the cage where it's closest to the cover. it softens the hit to the cover.

I beat the bike so hard that everything was trashed on it beyond repair except the motor.. 100s of crashes/drops and tons of revlimiter coasters and burnouts. Stuntex pickup and FI = indestructable (as possible) f4i. I tried 905s and they never lasted more than a month or two.. after a couple good drops they just flexed back and forth and would break stator covers. I saw brandons bike right after he got it back from tim, that blue 929 in the pics above and the new design is mint.
Yeah what he said.....i still havent crashed but ive laid it down a couple of times....i guess that when you get as good as me you dont really need a cage...LOL...just kiddin. Anyway Tim built my cage personally and he is very particular about his product being the best it can be...he is always looking to improve...i would buy his stuff just because hes just a good old guy...and i do mean old...lol. Tim i will be expecting that new pro 12 bar in the mail now...like the one you sent paw paw....

Re: Freestyle Ingenuity's New Cage Designs!

They only problem i ever had with my 929 cage was i stripped the threads on the right side upper motor mount. But i have to say when i buy a new cage i will go with freestyle... I still think they are the best. Only new thing i have seen that looks sweet are those scrapeworks.com subframes... i have been thinking of getting one of those.

I will tell you right now I have one of the first cages that Tim (F.I.) made for the F4i. still holding up, loop is bent but other than that it's still together.

P.S. I have the origonal motor and stator covers from 01' and i bought it new... haha
yes yes but a 905 will hold up to 10 -20 more hits than an F I......i don't understand why real testing has never been done....because the truth would hurt too much for some....
