100% correct
ban the thread bashers
636 means alot of rear sets they are fragile, oil in airbox sucks, subframes tweak pretty easy, and The Frames witch could get expensive good for the streets
F4i clip on position sucks, front ends suck for stoppies, Frame, subframe and motors are vertually indestructable :YEAH great for parking lot bikes

Re: 636 -vs- f4i
i just went to kawasaki.com and a 636 only weighs 360lbs....check out the website for yourself..
i also just did a google search on a 97 f3(no website since the bike is so old) and it weighs 407lbs actually....lol...i also think edubs bike is a 96 so it might even be heavier.....

Re: 636 -vs- f4i
I suck...we all kno this...but I do love my F4i...I havent ridden that many bikes and maybe its because the F4i is my day to day bike but that thing hasnt let me down yet. Ive crashed it at 30 and thing was fine after a few more zip ties. I do wish it had a bit more power and especially torque...but thats because im a squid and like expressway **** with out gearing

Re: 636 -vs- f4i
I like my 636 personally. I like how it looks, how it feels, how fast yet manageable it is. I changed one motor and it had 20k+ on it.....hell it still ran fine it just ran at 300 degrees all the time LOL no knocks or anything.
It stoppies good enough....I get alot stronger fighting off the constant tank slapping
The f4i with a similar set up to my 636 feels like a goldwing haha I like the high clip ons and the soft suspension for lots of things though. The motor is more forgiving but it also can be a slug. the clutch lever is so nice that I put one on my bike
Honestly....to pimp a 636:
needs upper faring stay
cage
bar
gears/chain
handbrake
clutch lever
raised clip ons or yoga lessons for the rider
manual cam chain tensioner
11 different steering dampeners or balance the front tire
To pimp an f4i:
cage
12 bar
gears
oil pick up
929 945 1000rr front end assy
handbrake
manual cam chain tensioner
stiffer rear spring
steering dampener
I've had this 636 for over a year now and I've got it pretty dialed now. I've built LOTS and LOTS of f4i's and I want to shoot myself every time I work on one.
Hell it takes no joke 40 mins to drop a 636 motor out. To change an f4i motor you're looking at taking the ENTIRE bike apart...Who the hell decided to bolt the motor to the swing arm and suspension links? f-cking retards....there's soo damn many lines and wires and devices on the f4i that WILL make it run sh!tty if you forget to hook up....I can forget to put the gas tank on my 636 and it'll still run better than an f4i
So I am the only one on my team with a 636...I ride HARDER than all of the guys (no offense to them but I do) yet there's only 1 636 motor on the floor of my shop in over a year...and I think I'm kicking 10 f4i motors around with holes in them
It stoppies good enough....I get alot stronger fighting off the constant tank slapping

Re: 636 -vs- f4i
The only thing wrong with my 636 was the rear sets which i put on wood crafts to stop that problem and if you dont have rubber piecies under the tank the throttle bodies will tend to fall off with a hard wreck. (phil told me how to fix that) I never really had that filling the air box with oil problem.
My roommate has a f4i and it is gut less. When you get in cirlces it locked in though it doesn't want to come out of them which is good. but no power. my 636 feels like a 750. i love it.
And i dont know what everyone is talking about the 636 takes a beating ask squrriel and i. We woop these bikes.

Art was simply throwing in his 2 cents that maybe you should consider a newer gix 600.. and the gix 600 is a sweet bike too. but i recommend any, all good, go with which feels the best. but the f4i is lil stronger dmg wise. lov'em all.

is that dry weight?? or ready to go? cause my manual said 384 was shipping weight. (no oil, gas, or coolant.) ready to go weight was what i quoted. Also If your looking up the 05 636, it is lighter then the 03-04.
