hi the TT600 was by no means a race bike it was a sport tourer. ALso I think it was only made for 4 years. The Daytona 600 was the sport bike. and That won the Isle of man ( yeah a real mans race). You must have ridden with someone that had one. That would prob be why you say they blow *****. I swear they grab more attention the the old gixxers and zx whatevers. Its a different bike and can still preform pretty well. No its not the best out of the box but then most sport bike mags report gixxers lose some power after 2 years and it drops from there. but whatever knock em cause they grab the attention.

Re: new triumph triple 675

tt600 was supposed to be the hot **** when it came out, first 600 with fuel injection, all hyped up. My buddy got one right when they came out, fuel injection was horrible on that bike lowend, could only keep up with the current 600's at that time. By todays standards it may be a sport tourer but back then it was released to compete with the 600's. Other reason i say they suck is cause i rode a daytone 650 earlier this summer, took a lot to bring it up in second, maybe it was cause it only had 50 miles on it but i was still very unimpressed with it's power, espcieally since it was a 650.

Re: new triumph triple 675

um no. The Daytona has always been the sports bike. The TT600 has been the sport tourer just like the sprint. When they raced they raced the daytona. I have worked with Triumph for awhile now and never was the TT ment to compete with the gixxer or any of that. Its like comparing the Ducati with the gixxer750 its about refinemnet not beat the **** out of it and buy new one next year.

Also no it doesn't have more power, that 123 is at the crank, which is on par with the current 600s, the 05 r6 is rated at 123 to the crank as well for example. I believe the 06 r6 is jumping to 140 or there abouts and the gixxer will be right up there too. It's also not lighter either, it wieghs the same as the current 600s. Nice bike but a couple years to late. I also can't really give them anything on orginality, i'd definetly mistake that thing for a 636 if i passed it anyday. Sorry i don't like brits so i tell it how it is.

wots wrong with the brits ?

for 2006 the new r6 got my vote, i think its the best looking bike ever and the pipe is sick, plus can't wait to hear some rev limiter coasters at 17,500rpm..

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the first Daytona's were a triple as well...ok, found it. I do know they raced triples in the 60's and 70's until they got beaten at the sales floor by the japanese. The modern 3 cyl sportbike came out in 1990.

And looky...it even comes in my color! Not sure how the new ones sound, but I remember test driving both the 750s and the 900s back in the day, and I loved the sound...kinda like a pissed off VW bug with a supercharger!!!

The bike can keep up for sure, i'm not saying it can't, my f3 can still keep up with newer 600's until high speeds, doesn't really say much. Keeping up with and being able to run right next to at higher speeds are two different things. My buddy still had his tt back when i first got my rr, and after a 100 i was walking him. 01+ gixxer 6s will run right with me on the rr, so if you're saying you beat them i'm calling or your buddies can't ride for **** . One other thing, my buddies tt dynoed 87hp to the wheel stock, pretty much all the 01+ 600s i've seen are between 95-100+ at the wheel.

599cc class only appliies to 4 cyl. bikes in most RA's: CCS, WERA, AMA...etc.
675 for 3 cyl
749 for twins
900 for air cooled (I think)
649 for two stroke (something like that, it been too many years)
Isle of Man to road racing is like Stuntwars to streetriding there is no better race
