Re: If we build it will you come?

from a non-pro's point of view .... I would def make the trip, make sure there is room for people to save some loot between major events - looks like you already thought of that though by saying about 3 months after stuntwars ....

Well, me being a youngin' and more of a dirtbikin' kid, I'll give you my opinion on what your saying...The guys who were in the hills out after school and on the weekends throwing down massive whips and what not ALWAYS get more respect from us youngin's who truly know what FMX is about. The future can't be the future without whats happening now, and what happened in the past. The 'unsung heros' definitly get more respect from me then the guys who are only doing backflips in the xgames. I'm sure the same will be said for guys like yourself. Just my

Re: If we build it will you come?

I want to thank everyone for making this a damn good post. John, I was actually thinking about running the endo comp in a bracket format. I feel that two people running at a time would build extra excitement and really get the crowd into the event. Still not sure if that format will prevail but its been an idea of mine for a long time. Your mention helps it sound something the riders may want. That in mind what do people think about it? How it would line up is still up in the air with plenty of time to hash out the details so specifics on how it would be run are to come.

If we do a bracket format I may consider a coaster competition, would there be rider interest? I don't think it would be a forerunner for things to come but in a bracket format I feel it an interesting watch from a spectators point of view. If people can suffer though a nohanded comp then they should be able to enjoy coasters in the correct format.

Ryan, I respect this man, he has one of the most important points about the judging format. The plan as of now is to incorporate the standard action sport criteria.

1. Variety - 1 judge will look for all variation of tricks.

2. Difficulty - 1 judge to oversee it was taken to its most difficult level.

3. Execution - 1 judge looking for flow and style.

10 point system per category, no bullshit.

Kane: For judges, hell that should be high on my list, right now its number 20. Thomas said it best, Gorka would be a great choice, and there are many others that I will put some serious thought into asking, for you that know me personally, you know I will be fair about the choice if nothing else.

All the while keeping the crowd riveted to their seats! You know crashes are what they want to see, even though stoppie crashes really suck to be a part of.

get off your own nuts you ******!!

nick, judging on a 10 pt system is TOO simple...there will be too much of a chance for ties...i suggest using the xsba rules or something similiar. i have some other suggestions that i'll pm you.

I second that. XSBA format seems to work fairly well. It worked well at our event.

Re: If we build it will you come?

I'm going to put some time into how the xsba was setup and see if there is anything I can "borrow" to make this event as successful as possible. Thanks everyone!

I concur. I also think that the team events are good for the fans. The Fans enjoy all the chaos involved with it.

I concur. I still think the only way I'll watch a team event with enthusiasm is if everyone is lit on fire

Re: If we build it will you come?

I Agree? Sclevela your an A$$JACK!

Fire would be good, Fans like fire.

If the Fans are numeber one priority, you got to cater to them. What do we know about them from past experience doing shows and comps? The Fans enjoy high speed acros, wheelies, stoppies and burnouts. (and burnouts prob the most) They enjoy the crashing as well, noone plans on this so?

So, if you take away a team ride or comp, who is going to cater to the Fans? You got a short time in individual and noone is going to waste there time doing high speed tricks or burnouts,Theyre going to be doing more slow technical tricks going by past events.

I agree with were the sport is going and the other sports dont have team event. They have something you dont though and it grabs peoples attention. They got big air to keep the fans on edge. As a Fan all the slow and technical tricks are fine and fun to watch but after a day of it, you become board. Thats why I think the team event should be kept, action for the Fans. You can have payouts less or just hire a couple of teams to put a show on.
