yes sir! I wouldn't trade the 450 back for anything.... not even for a kiss on the cheek from baby jesus!... did I mention it was light as a feather and fast as greased lightning?...makes the 650 feel like a pinto and the 650 was a hoss..no where near stock on the motor side. The 450 isn't stock either but thats a story for another day

Re: stunting out a crf450?

I stunt a crf450, got a handbrake, 12 bar and working on some stunt pegs for it. I bought it with wheels so it save me some dough. A flywheel weight would be nice, I was workin on circles with my foot in the bar and stalled the bike and got tossed over the bars, lol. The bike seems to go from 1500 rpm to stall pretty easy so I work the clutch alot. here are some pics

Nice pics moorport.

I took the WR out today and instantly transfered alot of Sportbike stuff right to it. Spreaders, Highchairs, coasters. Still have knobbies on it too! To much fun though! Cant wait for wheels.. the bike is a beast!

Re: stunting out a crf450?

wow moorport, lookin' good man. you got any other pics of your 450? if you could pm me with them or email me them Healingshot@hotmail.com i'd appreciate it.

i'm sure you saved a pretty penny not having to get wheels. i'm keeping my eyes peeled, no way i'm ****in paying 1200 for some supermoto rims, i wanna stunt it, but not that bad.

Re: stunting out a crf450?

oh yea, what all other mods you got to your 450? how necessary is gearing on it? a few other 450's i've seen were gettin' beat on pretty good and had no gearing.

Re: stunting out a crf450?

You don't need to gear a supermoto for stunting really.. unless you want to anyway..

Re: stunting out a crf450?

I just finished putting my RM250 together and just started stunting it. The 2-stroke makes it a little interesting, but its really nice to learn balance and ****.

I was running a cable operated 50stunt handbrake that moved the foot pedal, didn't like it cuz it took 2 fingers, now I am working on a hydraulic handbrake. I am making one setup that has dual caliper on rear and one that uses an adapter at the rear master to see wich one works best. Hopefully I will have some results in a few weeks. Not sure if it will fit a drz400 though.

Re: stunting out a crf450?

TTR125 with the front disk brake is a great little bike. Especially if you arent ready for a full size 250/450

Re: stunting out a crf450?

Alright heres a bunch of stupid questions since i dont kno jack sh*t about dirt bikes/supermotos

Whats a good bike to stunt and rock on the streets? It seems like a lot of you are killin it on 450's.

Im only 5'6" so dirt bikes I've always had the problem of being to short and almost always falling over. what bike is a good size for my height? or can i lower a supermotos height?

Can u hit combos on a supermoto like u can on a streetbike? like jump from a SS to a Spreader?

I have a couple other ideas I dunno if theyd be worth it...put on basically a cheater peg so u can do some staggered stand ups?

Anyone ever rigged up sum clip ones to replace the dirt bike bars? I kno this actually a pointless mod but I was just thinking for ppl who feel more confortable with street bike set up instead of the bar?

Re: stunting out a crf450?

I would say to rock out on the streets you wouldnt want a CRF450 or YZF450. The Yamaha and KTM have models that are identical in looks but have different trannys, 5 speeds & wide ratio instead of 4 speed close ratio. YZF has its twin the WR. SX has its MX/EXC twin.

As for the height thing.. You can alway lower a bike, but I dont recall ever seeing dogbones being offered like they are on streetbikes. Dropping the forks in the triples isnt very effective either because the bars are right there preventing them from moving very far up. Which brings up the clipons issue. Nope. Never seen clipons either, but the fork diameter is very simular to streetbikes and you could make it work I'm sure. Vortex, F.I., Woodcraft, they all make multiple sizes.

Moorport has a cheater peg. Check out his pics.

Combo's, yes. You'd be suprised how much you can transfer to the DB.

I say get one! Even with knobbies I had a blast in the lot.

Re: stunting out a crf450?

I'm 5"7 and have had a WR400 yamaha and a 525 KTM with no problems.. the only really tall bike is a DRZ400 but it's all about confidence really, just lean off the side, kickstarting is harder though.. I can only kick start one by leaning against something and standing on the pegs or using the sidestand, else I can't kick it properly

So in all, you'll be fine..

You can get longer dogbones from Kouba links to drop the rear of the bike.
You can also fit taller risers if you want to drop the forks through more, although they'll probably drop through around an inch or so before they touch the bars.
You can also cut the seat foam to gain another couple of inches too.

My YZ125 i had when i was 14 had 4 inches taken out of the height.

MX bars are available in a huge variety of different bends and rises to suit everyone, and you can always chop the ends off if you find them too wide.

Re: stunting out a crf450?

Alot of supermoto racers lower their bikes a bit, especially on tracks that are mostly pavement. They say they dont need all that travel because the jump they do arent as big as motocross. They usually do it by installing shorter springs front and rear. But thats money.

Moorport and Schooler....the HB fittings that motoheaven sells wont fit on a DB? seems like there might be one that would fit. I dunno, ive never looked.
