the majority of the site is done using scrolling layers.. not frames!!!

There is that main frame in which the content is in. It screams unprofessional. If you used frames in order to seperate the design from the content, you can easily use a PHP script/SSI to achieve the same thing, except you can eliminate the need for frames.

i did my best with my little web design knowledge...
i opened photoshop and dreamwear.. clicked open new and went from there..

if you have some grand secrets share the wealth...

and ive seen every other stunt website out there.. id like to think unproffessional is a word that can be allocated to a few others over mine...

but i accept criticism.. throw me some ideas..
