Re: Which is better for a hand brake?

personal preference. they are both good if set up right and they can both suck *** if set up wrong.........I have the gp tech fitting and it kicks ***. one finger is plenty on the lever.........dual calipers, the worst part is getting a bracket that is straight and whatnot...holla

gotta roll with dual calipers for sure...your brake never fades out and it is way touchy.

Re: Which is better for a hand brake?

im a machinist so i would make either a braket or a new master. i was thinking a bracket would be alot easier to make. and since im cuttin it, it will be straight. i know someone who had someone try to weld to stock brackets together and it wasnt straight and the hand brake ended up not working.

Re: Which is better for a hand brake?

yeah, put it this way, the only thing that you would not want to run dual caliper for is the "excess drag" created by a not straight bracket. other than that the only thing influencing your choice would be price.... My setup with the gp tech fitting, which could be mimicked by welding the threaded fitting off of one master cylinder onto the one on your bike, where the fitting goes, works great, and I have had zero problems with it, and for me it was the easiest and cheapest way of getting it done. having the systems completely seperate of eachother is good because if one breaks, you still have the other one....

Re: Which is better for a hand brake?

I milled my own adaptor. Spun it out on the lathe from some steel rod i had laying around. Basically what I did was pull out the little plastic stub where the resivoir connects to the rear M/C. Took some measurments with a digi-slide caliper. Milled it, drilled/tapped it (banjo bolt = Metric 10x1.25 tap) inserted it (factory o-ring sealed it up), and pinned it in 3 spots so it wont pull out. call bonocoinc.com u can get a 54" line for about $39 shipped. I have an r6 master on my bike, and a gix1000, havent decided what i like more yet. Good Luck. :YEAH
