TL1000 Good for Stunting?

Hey All,

Just bought a 98' Suzuki TL1000S a week ago and I was just wondering how are they for stunts? I have seen a lot of them doing slow stunts (which is what i am getting into). I've read a lot about them being horrible for stunting. But I have also read a lot about after you sprocket them, they are torque machines. Let me know all your feelings on it, I got it for $1,200 with 1,400 miles on it so I can't go wrong. In the process of putting a cage and 12' bar on it. Kid dropped it and got afraid of it, no frame damage or fork damage. Thanks!

PM Cory from D aces .. he stunted an S for awhile

as for gearing .. they are torque machines from the factory

Dont mousetrap it. My boy tacoed a frame in one day trying to learn 12s. Those bikes are way to heavy to slam the front down.

I agree with the 600 idea. it's probablybetter in the long run that way...but if you want to, keep it and have fun.

Re: TL1000 Good for Stunting?

The crank goes every time. I had one for three years. Last year I got the nose little higher and did occasional standups, motor gone. It's heavy, but the front is light, so It's really easy to do popo power wheelies with it. It doesn't really need cage, just good sliders, the engine is so narrow, it lays well on the exhaust.

hard to do endos, mediocre brakes and heavy tail because twin engine and twin pipes. Cory from d-aces learned endos with it, so that is probably the reason 929 is so easy to him now?. After TL I had 954 and it's 100x better for endos. and wheelies too.

But for power wheelies TL is the best. with minor gearing -1 front or +5 or so to the back it pulls efortless wheelies starting from any speed. It's tank slapping biach so be carefull and don't remove the steering damper.

check TLplanet.com, lot of nice people that are really into TL's even thou it has it week points.
