i agree, if i was gonna scrape the tail i would use a gear or two lower and higher R's! even with the HB just to be safe! but i was talkin about rolling them for a distance, down I-95 its not uncomin to roll a 2-3 mile combo or spreader, in that case the high r's would be killing hte motor!

SuperGangsterrrr--rip it up in 2nd and scrape spreader on the streets, then go to seat stander, then to offset regular wheelie, shift up to 4th or so, jump to tank and resume lower rpm, highway murdering!!!

You should try turning your idle down till the bike wont run, it makes your engine brake feel 2k rpms stronger.

Re: Wheelie Speed

just about the whole speed issue during wheelies......I dont' look at my speedo while I am in a wheelie, but you obviously can tell how fast you were going once you set the front end back down and Then look at the speedo.....

I guess I just want to get my wheelies from 60-70 down to around 45-50mph and was just curious at what speed and what technique other guys are using to get there bikes up at BP around 45mph in 2nd....with Stock Gears...

true true, but for cruising at bp i like the idle at 2.5 because it's so much smoother.

Re: Wheelie Speed

i look at my speedo to see how many mph i am dropping... i look all the time, and yes i look through my windscreen, it's clear... i can easily look at it when i'm goin like 65 or somethin like that... but for like 30mph i just peak down a little... i'll get a helmet cam one day haha

Re: Wheelie Speed

Well, it seems that the whole speed issues is diffrent for everyone b/c if you re-gear your bike then you will be going much slower in 2nd gear.

I am running stock gears so at 45mph I am only pulling about 5k RPM........some of you who are geared a hell of a lot lower may only be around 30mph at 5k RPM.....

This is mainly my issue....if I try to pull the front end up so I will be balanced around 40-45mph that means I have to pull it up at around say 25-35mph and at those speeds I am looking at under 4k RPM.....

Re: Wheelie Speed

it should come up if you clutch it right. those bikes have mad low end power. 600's are hard as hell to get balanced slower with stock gearing without starting fast and slowing them down
