FMF Exhausts - Shorty cans!!

So i got the first tests of FMF Racings' new upcomming shorty can designed for... you guessed it. STUNTERS...

so lemme hear it guys.. if FMF deceides to mass produce these cans... would you be interested in getting them? they want to know... would stunters purchase cans designed specifically for our needs. engineered not to loose low end like cutting a can in half would, and built with FMF's supreme build quality!

4" shorter than stock, and still machined with top quality Titanium and would be available in 3 colours, while still retaining FMF's unique oval to round, square center design!

lemme hear it!

Stock can on top... new Stunter can on bottom!

I'd look into it as long as Im not going to be getting noise complaints bringing cops to the spot.

GREAT IDEA KANE! BUT,

Here's where i think you are going to run into a problem. Stunters KNOW that their can is going to get a little rashed eventually... so they don't want to spend the loot for a new/minty can when they can pick up a used/slightly rashed one and cut it down, saving them lots of money!

I am intrigued by the "no loss of low end power" though! it would be nice to see FMF show PROOF of that! maybe dyno a stock can, then a normal FMF can, then a Cut down can, then a "STUNTER SPECIAL" no loss of low end can, all back to back and pay attention the the Torgue numbers between 1K-5K!!! HMMMM, might be onto something... but i still think that $$$ of a new can might be a major hang up for a lot of riders!

Re: FMF Exhausts - Shorty cans!!

3 things that make a can good for stunting:

Short
Cheap
Quiet

We know its short enough, how bout the other 2?

Re: FMF Exhausts - Shorty cans!!

quiet is good for practice... (won't **** off people and get the cops called on you)

for shows you need LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS!!! (people like that!)

Not too loud, but definatly not quiet.

Re: FMF Exhausts - Shorty cans!!

Would be nice if they put a removable baffle in it so you could keep it quite when you want, and loud when you don't. Probably isn't a good idea to be makin them out of titanium from a cost perspective, most people aren't gonna give a **** about having a titanium exhaust on their stunt piece, tell them to do stainless and keep the cost down.

Re: FMF Exhausts - Shorty cans!!

Def looks good, but like Legion said for me it comes down to 2 things...
$$$ and noise level....My bike hits the ground every practice session so wouldnt be worth it to put that on..Plus our spots have been trouble free mainly b/c people can barely hear us..We all have stock cans...

But I do agree that it would be good for shows but pending the price b/c any of us can go and get some beat to shiat aftermarket can to throw on come show time..

cheers
