Gix 750 comes up in 3rd?
I've got 2nd gear wheelies pretty much on lock now, I usually pull it up around 50 or so and get it balanced out around 70-75 and can ride them for 1/4-1/2 mile on good ones. I've been trying to get up 3rd but I can only get it maybe 6 inches or so standing staggered, bouncing and clutching the hell out of it, and I'm -1 up front.
It's on 00 gsxr 750 with a full yosh, K&N, so I thought it would come up easier than this. Any advice?
I just want to be able to pull it up on the freeway without slowing down much at all.

Re: Gix 750 comes up in 3rd?
you dont even need 3rd gear. you can rock 2nd all day long anywhere from 40-70 mph controlled and smooth. bounce it up and ride it. if you're tachin out in 2nd, then you need to work on technique not 3rd gear ...................................

I don't have a problem balancing it out, I'm still working on KEEPING it balanced but I'm not running till redline or anything everytime I wheelie. I have brought it up in 2nd at 65-70 or so but by the time I get it all the way up it's around maybe 80-85 or so and that's pretty high up on the tach to be running for an exit or two. I was looking to get 3rd up not so much to do them faster, but just to be nicer to the engine and have more of a rev range to play with.
For those of you with stock or pretty much stock gearing, I'm -1 up front, what revs do you clutch from? I've only tried a little from around 5-6k and it only will come up a little. I'm standing staggered and bouncing the front pretty hard. Any tips on technique for me to get it up higher?

Re: Gix 750 comes up in 3rd?
maybe what he wants is not to do a 3rd gear speed wheelie at like 90.. but he wants to be in 3rd gear so the bike isnt reving so hard in 2nd...
try shifting to 3rd from 2nd once u get it to the BP.. if u can shift clutchlessly with 2 down just takes a bit of work to do it on one wheel

Re: Gix 750 comes up in 3rd?
I've gotten my old 954 up in 3rd gear here at 30mph, you just need to bounce hard clutch and pull back on the handlebars to start it lifting, but it feels more like a power wheelie than clutching and eats up a ton of revs.
