Re: r6 vs zx6r

yamaha fans will say R6, Kawasaki fans will say the zx6r... see if u can take a spin on both and see what u like...

and i have an 05 r6 but i hear the frames are weaker since (03+) because they made the frame stiffer but subsequently weaker... dont know about problems with the kawasaki but year, if u plan on stunting heavily the R6's frames are weaker than the average bike

In this case I ask what type of riding do you HONESTLY plan on doing. Two, pick up any number of bike mags out there with a 600 shootout to get all the info you need and plenty you don't(specs coming out your eyeballs). Three from what I have read, both bikes are great and like all have different characteristics. Go to the local shop, sit on em, see which is more comfortable for YOU, see who has demo days and go for a spin.

To ask someone else what bike to get is not the greatest idea, you want to buy the bike YOU want, not what someone else wants right. Be cool :YEAH

Re: r6 vs zx6r

I am a Yamaha fan owned a 01 R6 and currently own a 03 R6 and a ZX6R 636

And even though Ive always been a Yamaha fan Id say the 636 is the one and I used to hate Kawi. Actually I do hate them all of them except this one new 636 is growing on me but I like the 03-04.

Quality fit and finish wise the R6 is better and thats what used to be important to me. Now I stunt and have a different mind set ZX6R is a kick *** bike stunting or not........even though its not as pretty when it comes down to fit and finish.

R6 is a really easy bike to wheelie thought I find it easier to manipulate that bike ZX6R takes more body language for sit downs.

Re: r6 vs zx6r

I actually like the 636, but the overall fit and finish is waaaaay better on the R6. For overall street riding, I'd go with the R6. For straight bashing, go with the 636.

Re: r6 vs zx6r

Don't buy a brand new bike for your fisrt bike. New minty bikes are for people with too much money. You WILL drop your first bike. Save yourself some money and get somethign a few years old. Get something new once you're good and ready. Maybe never. Remember-the guy taking the bike off the lot is losing the most money.
P.S. If this isn't your first bike and/or you have lots of extra money to burn please disregard the above comments.

I'd go with 04 636 would be cheaper and great all around bike and it's the bomb for stunting and so far it's held up great!
