Re: Some of the things I've learned this year... random
Good post for sure.
I've watched BMX, skateboarding and all the other Xgames sports on TV. I've seen all the sponsors, events, TV spots etc...Streetbike stunting has one thing those sports don't have much of at all. CHARACTERS!!! I've never seen a sport full of so many different guys with different styles etc. You want 'darius toys' in wal-mart...I can see it already. If you think about it, most guys have their own 'costumes' and their bikes painted with signature colours and graphics...almost like wrestling. There is a huge fan base of 8-18 year olds and amateur stunters just waiting to buy this stuff up and make the skilled rich. Someone has just gotta get it over that hump. The Houston XSBA gravity games thing looked like it was it. Get one of those in all the big major US cities and keep going back...it'll catch on. Its not easy, it just takes the support, funding and some pioneers.

It sounds like alot of trouble but at least you are doing it. I'll never know for myself. I have to watch vids and assume that all pros got it made. You are a brave person. Good luck.

Def. good post...
It's even funnier to me because I met Kane prior to the pink and everyone knowing who he is. I used to defend him when people were hating that had not even ever met him. He used to get a lot of **** for being involved with pauly from lvx.
Anyways, this dude is definitely a great person with alot of talent and he is definitely an asset to the sport! Good job bro and good luck in the future.

Lets start this off by saying thank you to Kane for a great post! I quit my job to do this full time in October, and as Kane said, I have had several different job titles since the beginning. I came into this blind, and not expecting to really get anything out of it, except for maybe a great life experience, or even a few good stories. What I got, and continue to get, is and was beyond any dream I ever had. I have yet to see any financial stability out of it, I just barely make rent, and my credit card bills are through the roof. I get just enough to scrape by and keep on going for another month, but I wouldn’t trade the things I have done and seen over the last several months for anything. So far, I have been all over the U.S., and since March I have been to Guam, Saipan, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and as we speak my bags are packed to go back to Puerto Rico this weekend, all for doing something that I love, being an *** on my motorbike. It is truly motivating when you ride out of the States, the people are so thankful and appreciative that you are out there to do a show for them, I can't even begin to describe the things and feelings I have gotten out of traveling. And its not just the travel I find rewarding, its the people involved. I have met so many great people since I started getting into this in 01. People from all over the states that I am happy to call my friends. I had originally moved down here to Florida to do this for the winter, but the things that I have done, and will continue to do will keep me here until I run out of gas. No matter how much I ride, I will never get tired of being on my bike, whether I am in a parking lot, on a back road, or in front of thousands (I would rather it be the latter!) I will always ride. I decided that I am no longer pursuing my dream, I am living it. I learned that money is not important, as long as you live life to the fullest! A lot of people say that this is not a sport, and that it is going no where…….let them believe what they want, and I will believe what I want.
While I am on this subject, I would like to send a couple of thank-yous to the people that help keep my dream a reality-
Mark and the rest of the crew at HAI-You guys really are the ****….
Kyle Woods-You keep me on my toes….
Aaron and Jacob-For dragging me to a lot of shows and convincing many promoters that I am a good rider….
Teach-You scumbag, if it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t know that I could this **** on my bike, thanx bro….
Racing 905-Saved me thousands in bike parts, Aaron, Stephanie…I heart the Racing 905 crew….
The Vertical Outlaws Family-wouldn’t be here without you clowns….
Drew Stone-You do a lot for a lot of people, thank you !
And last but not least-I would be nothing without the support of my family!
Sorry for the rant….Kane got me all worked up!

I for one I em a complete green horn to the business side of this sport!
the only business I know is spending a whole lot of money to keep my bike going,
in return i continue to better myself, but it's not any easier on my wallet. Sure i wish I could get paid to do this. thats why i'm moving out to Huntington Beach, Ca for the winter. I'm just dropping everything i got out here and taking only what i can fit into the back of my S-10. I want to learn the end and outs of the sport and i'm not going to do it sitting in my house all winter pissed off and drunk, because it's to cold to fuking ride.
I love this sport and this lifestyle. Everyone i have met doing this have been the coolest most down to earth people i know. I just love it how i could probobly go to any town and meet someone from stuntlife and they would let me crash on there coutch for a couple days, weeks, months ..... And i would do the same.
I have lived here in colorado since third grade off an on and sure yes it's comfortable and i'm used to it here, but I just say *** it. I'm 20 and have the rest of my life infront of me. why don't I try everything possiable to make something out of all the time, money, and love i have poored into making whoolies??? i'm tired of asking myself that!
so if u live in SO cal or any surrounding areas expect to see my ugly mug in the near future. I want to be apart of pushing this sport to the next level and i want to be around when it does.

very good post.....i wouldn't trade in the stuntin career for anything, although i make it work while having a full time job-which is very flexable....would like to make more money at it and be able to quit my day job, but i break way too much **** for that to happen yet.....LOL
