Get new bike or not?

alright, heres the situation. i have a 2000 cbr600 and its carberated. ive been gettin better at slow wheelies n 12in and the bike doesnt like to run very well up there. i have a friend that would buy it for 1500-2000 and i have some cash in the bank as well and i was thinking i would do that and buy a fuel injected 600. do you think that it would be worth it?

Re: Get new bike or not?

I'm at the same point u are. I can slow stuff way down but it sucks and likes to die alot. But getting a different bike isn't gonna make you a better rider. Look at the people rockin old carbed bikes, edub jumps to mind cause he has the same bike as me. He's way better than me and still rockin an old carbed bike. I'd say if you can get a good deal on your bike, an amount that its actually worth, then sell it. But don't just sell it to get something new.

Re: Get new bike or not?

mine likes to die when i get past bp and am almost on the bar. it sucks when it does die and im not on the bar and then i come smashin down on the front tire. donno if a FI bike would help that. ive also always wanted an F4I cause i like the looks of the bike alot better plus it has 2 seats and mine has the bike stupid banana seat.

Yeah but newer f4is have the banana seat to. Raise your idle and try and feather the clutch once your past bp. That should help a little bit for gettin on the bar. An fi bike will run upside down so it would help. But bar tricks are dumb anyways. The thing i hate is how much my bike gets affected by the weather. One day it will run perfect, the next it will be bogging and sputtering all over. Sucks when you try and clutch up a wheelie and it comes half way up and then boggs and slams back down in second gear at 30mph.

Re: Get new bike or not?

Prolly fit, i was trying to see if my sprocket from my f3 would fit an f4i. But i don't think it will. But an f4 and f4i are almost the same bike, minus the fuel injection.

Yes, everything swaps over. The f4 and f4i are identical bikes in every way except the fuel injection on the motor, and the subframe/banana seat.

wrong.. rear wheels are different. If you keep your F4 cush drive and sprocket it will fit, but the sprockets wont go over to the F4i wheel. Front wheels are differnt too, rotors are way off. Radiators are different but not by much, tank is differnent cause the fuel pump is high PSI and its mounted within. There are so many small differences, once you get knee deep into either bike you will notice. Oh yeah, radiator reservoir is different too, its near the shock on the F4i

i got 2 F4s and an F4i. I like the F4s better. They pull every bit as strong on slow wheelies. i wouldnt spend too much doing the switch, its really not worth it
