which one would u trust...

a 1000rr stock electronic stabalizer, or spend a shitload more and get a scotts or something along that line? i just bought a 929 with a 1000rr upper triple, so i can bolt the stock RR stabalizer on there, for probly around $100, or spend about $400 on a scotts.. i heard that at high speeds the stabalizer can't compensate, and then again i heard the opposite, that at slow speeds it doesn't work for ****.. lets hear some thoughts n opinions

Re: which one would u trust...

a bunch of people have complained about how electronics can fail. Personally I think honda wouldn't have put it on there if it was shady as far as reliability goes. Honda isn't known for inovation so i'd trust it. But as far as a stunt dampener i'm not sure how good they are, seems most people seem to run a gpr. If I was to get one thats probably what i'd go with.

Re: which one would u trust...

yeah thanks i appreciate the input.. i read what darius wrote, sounds good, just pricey.. my buddy who is an engineer explained the damper to me.. but i'm still lost on the whole thing.. just as usual i am broke, and just bought a bike. so i need ta get a cage first.. then a dampner and some gearing.. all in time i guess

Re: which one would u trust...

I am pretty sure that you have to have the computer to run the electronic damper, so without that it would be useless. Then again, I just heard that.

Re: which one would u trust...

those dampers get tighter at higher speeds... so slow stuff would be stupid cause it'd be loose

Re: which one would u trust...

they work off the speed sensor. so when you're turning around in a parking lot it gets loose and stiffens at higher speed. but for stoppies i'd lose it.

Re: which one would u trust...

The 1000rr damper bases it damping force off of throtte position. Makes no sense to me. Get a tank slapper, freak out and let off the bars and your fooked!!!
