Who is the "God Father" of stunting?

This is good!
This is a good topic, its cool to see how fellow riders got involved in rippin stunts. I recently bought a book called "Street Extreme" its pretty badass if you can find it. Anyway it talks about the a long history of people doin motorcycle stunts on old school machines. You will find who the true "Godfather" is in that book.
BUT! for me, the group who opened up my eyes to a different level of riding was d-aces. Before I saw their first video "Set it off" I had no clue such things could be done on a motorcycle. Now! I'm all about it.

saying Starboyz or LVX or anyone out now, is like saying Pac or Biggie are the Godfathers of hip hop/rap. That's foolish. They only "mastered" an idea that was already out there in the world.
Rothwell, of course.
What about Evil Knievel???
That boy brought it into everyone living rooms on ABC's Wide World of Sports!!!

Hmmm... when I was very young I remember watching Evil Knievel wheelie and jump his motorcycle.
I would have to say Gary Rothwell, LVX and StarBoyz are all godfathers of the sport. Although I feel the godfather himself is Rothwell. Back in 97 or so, from what I can remember, it seemed he was talked about the most when it came to stunting.

Well... here's my ...
The "Godfather" of stunting is... first off.. 1 person.. not an entire stunt team. Also it doesn't have to be the first person you saw stunt.... It's more a long the lines of the person that plays the role. Take Metz for example... He's not the first FMX rider. But he's the man! He plays the role.... That's why my vote for the "GodFather" is the true pimp.... the true playa... the man that know's the role!

The actual God Father of stunting is right here:

He's even in the motorcycle hall of fame.
To me the "God Father" would be someone that made a career out of stunting. Not just a few clowns selling videos of wheelies. Just about anyone can ride a wheelie. Just go the the video section and you'll see the same old wheelies, sitting on the tank, standing on the pegs, standing on the seat.... Everyone and their brother is pulling that stuff. Let me know when those so called "God Fathers" make their first million riding motorcycles for a living. You want to see a man stunt a motorcycle? Lets see any one of the star boys jump on a 1976 Harly Davidson that's a tank with crap suspension and jump about 50 cars. Star boys who? Let's see them do that one. To me breaking a distance jump record with a modern dirtbike with mega suspension travel just doesn't compare. Evel was the man, and I don't think anyone is crazy enough to pull the stuff he did on those old Harleys. If there is, I'd like to see it. On top of being crazy he made a name for himself and made a shitload of cash.

Evel deserves all of the credit for his "stunt riding", what you are not getting, is that this is a new sport--Sportbike Freestyle is a different element, and the distinction is important. Perhaps the lack of vocabulary from an industry perspective is causing you to see things this way, but the Starboyz are pioneers in this, and to discredit them because you dont see them being millionares is mocking the avatar you are rocking. When Freestyle Motocross started, were they millionares? Did you ever think they could be? The bottom line is what these guys are doing, and the style they have is something that people want to see. Don't throw stones at the industry because you don't see it. In fact if you don't see it what are you doing on this board? These guys take enough **** forging the way for the sport, they don't need to be discredited by you!
