Stunt riding in 5 years-

Wheres the sport gonna be in 5 years? Crazy how far its come in the last 5. I'm guessing lots of new stuff to come, and still being somewhat of an underground sport. What do you guys think?

a. people are gonna have lots of brake levers mounted in weird places

b. there will be obstacles involved in the competitions

c. people will do wheelies with roman candles shooting from their bikes

Yeah I could see one or all of those things happening lol. I definitely think the whole obstacles idea is most likely of the three.

Have you seen the movie "Mad Max"? Maybe not 5 years from now, but more like 10.

Yeah, its definitely gonna blow up, its already getting bigger. It will probally end up in the X games, and there will be national coverage for sure. The tricks are goona get even sicker too ... $h!t, just look at how far freestyle motocross has come. 5 years ago a backflip almost seemed impossible, now they are mixing crazy @ss tricks in with backflips, and double back flips are being attempted!!

not physically possible on a big bike although if i remember right i seen a trials bike do it... kinda dipped real hard into a 180 stoppie and caught air and was able to "tail whip" it around....

but as far as just piviting on the front wheel into a 360 never goin to happen

But then again it like the other guy said backflips seemed impossible in MX

Re: Stunt riding in 5 years-

if we want to move in the professional direction of the sport goto www.XSBA.com or continue to follow the Euro's latest
as far as stunting.. it will be legal in the US it may take more than 5 yrs.
we will always host underground events

I know the obstacle thing will happen
we prolly will have a foam pit for those who will want to do a backflip
and who knows, we all may trade the big nastys in for super motards and do all our tricks on them and still have the same bike hit FMX ramps for the flips!
who knows

just keep stuntin and we shall find out with time!

Re: Stunt riding in 5 years-

obstacles have already been talked about for a little while now and dont be surprised if you see them in the next big (if unfortunatley) clear channel/xsba event

as for my prediction...motards, ramps, halfpipes....can you say motorcycles, bmx, and fmx all combined!!!!

Re: Stunt riding in 5 years-

But this sport is sportbike freestyle. Motards and fmx are not done with sportbikes. They might all merge into a motard doing everything from ramps to fmx airs, but that wouldn't be streetbike freestyle, it would be motard freestyle. This sport will always be done on a sportbike, because that is what defines the sport.
And teach, how about a heads up on what kind of obsticles you guys were thinking about????

Re: Stunt riding in 5 years-

hmm, in 5 years...the bikes will be crazy...stunters will be more amzing than yesterday
i'm assuming the bikes will be very light, have lots of power and it would make it easyer for us to do tricks that we arn't even thinking about today
