Who was the first stunter with a shorty exhaust???

Alright, who was the first? Alot of people keep saying how stunting is the future of bikes, and how we are evolving the sport/hobby, and this is some new proof. Say hello to the new Yoshimura Gsxr1000 2005 exhaust. Look familiar? Think its a stunter thing or a MotoGP thing? Maybe both?

If thats a GP exhaust, Yoshi just ****ed up good. That **** would get scraped up more than you're knee pucks. People have enough trouble trying not to lowside an off camber exhaust side curve with exhausts that are set a lot higher and out of the way than that.

It looks like it sticks out as far as the peg. With a set of dragon slicks, and a Road Atlanta style off camber turn you'ld be scraping the **** out of it.

Re: Who was the first stunter with a shorty exhaust???

True. But I wonder if Yosh designed it solely based on the GP exhaust or if they noticed stunters doing it at all. My guess is it was a little of both. Someone working for Suzuki/yoshimura probably was looking for the latest trend, and wanted to be the first to do something different. Cool regardless.

I love it. I think the **** is bangin. It just surprizes me that Yoshi would be the first popping out with this. I would expect some of the more style only companies to bust out with a stunter exhaust

Actually, this is the first aftermarket Ive seen for the 05 1K. And since the stock is a shorty too, my guess is everyones will look like this for this bike. Thats pretty dope.

Im gonna say Thew was rockin a shorty long ago. And by the way the tri oval exhaust provides MORE ground clearance than any other model Yosh has produced, but i have no idea why they would shorten it for the track???

Re: Who was the first stunter with a shorty exhaust???

A. The stock exhaust for the 05 gix 1000 was made in that funny shape for the purpose of centralizing weight. I doubt they are noticing stunt riders style and copying it.

B. Back to the original question, the first stunter with a shorty exhaust was the first guy to crash a 12 and noticed the scrape on the end of the pipe. Simple soloution to a simple problem.

true moto gp bikes typically tuck them under the seat, or a highmount...that thing does look clean as hell though.
