Modification to Frame for FI Cages

Hi fellas, I had my frame reinforced to mount my FI Cage, as Tim from FI said that I should reinforce the frame mounting points, Before I got the cage on I learnt the hard first time around and fked an engine and frame using oggy *****.

Has anyone else on SL done modifications to their frames to reinforce the cage mounting points?

IF SO POST UP...

You oughtta weld a plate on the triangle too. I see 900 frames crack around that alot.

Re: Modification to Frame for FI Cages

Thanks fellas, what triangle are you on about? Do you mean the triangle hole in the frame which supports the sub frame mounts? Got any pics?

The last thing I need is to snap something off it again....

Re: Modification to Frame for FI Cages

That will work for a little while untill the frame splits in half in front of the motor mount. but you will get good some time out of it. Nice bead though.
Whats up with those air filters get rid of that **** and put an airbox on that thing before you hurt yourself!!! LOL!

Hi Tony, Thanks for the Tip, I have fked the Air Pods off already and got the Std box back on, the joint tuning my bike said the same.

What other places are worth welding up? and do you know how thick the Alloy used is on your 919 Blade was?

Sweet, thanks for that, have you busted a Sub frame or did you get it welded for extra strenth?
