Eventually left untreated you will need surgery to correct the problem. Add up surgery plus medication, then compare to the cost of D.C. care, and then compare the results, you would be more inclined to stear this way.
As to whether I was angree to your answer--NO, you cannot get angry at someone for making an uninformed answer, you can only try to correct their misbeliefs! There's no way an M.D. would ever discredit a D.C. unless they were completely ignorant and got their M.D. in Korea!

Re: What do you do when you get hurt?
watching my spelling when I'm in between classes is not the highest of my priorities.
As far as other posts go, there is a definate difference between opinion and intelligence, more times than not I show my opinion and post on things that are lacking in intellectual requirements.
Posts like (Things to know you're a squid....) are entertaining to me, but I have noticed how BS enters when ill-informed people post on a webboard. Research some of my old post and you'll see my praising power wheelies that I no longer pull. You would also notice I don't give advice or post opinions about things like handbrakes, which I neither have had nor used---therefore I am not comfortable posting an opinion about what is better or if its cheating when I have no experience with it.
As far as questioning the ratio of real D.C. with quacks, it depends on the area you live in. Most states require a doctorate, continued education, and recertification.
If the D.C. is working out of a 1970's Pinto you can bet he's a quack, but if someone is running a 2 million dollar practice and lives comfortably--they most likely know what they are doing.
Intelligence level doesn't really matter in the end, I have looked into this for a long time, and HAVE spoken to many people (DR's, patients,....) and have computed the advantages and disadvantages of an M.D. versus a D.C.---for me the D.C. outweighed the M.D. on many levels.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I respect yours, but I also realize that opinions have a negative response from people with different opinions. I ask that you recognize this also. I don't know who you talked to and got your info from, or if you actually did question anyone at all. I also don't know what the laws are in your state, and if a D.C. is required to practice. In some states a person can become a massage therapists, acupunturists, and chiropractor by getting business cards made up and reading a few books----these are the people who will get you hurt ,and no I wouldn't trust my nerves in their hands either.

As an insurance adjuster I think the idea of a chiro is bullshit. Everyday i see bullshit injury claims with chiroquacks sigs. they message people, thats all they fuggin do, don't over glorify their pathetic careers. These injuries would resolve themselves without these ******** stepping in. close to an MD? bullshit these people can never make up their minds if **** is sprained or strained, cervical sprain/strain, lumbar strain/sprain. all they do is work with lawyers and idiot *** claimants to rip us off. thats it im done.

There are going to be MD's who help people rip you off, as well as D.C.'s and lawyers("ambulance chaisers"). Typically there are lawyers involved in these situations and everyone knows their reputation, but when you need help with a ticket you still call one---and he's your best friend(at least until the court date).
All I am saying is, don't condemn all people in a profession, because a few are crooked and every profession has its crooked people--including insurance adjusters (I've met one)<---Not you, someone from a car claim.

I don't care either way on this issue...I am just throwing out more info on it.
As far as DC's....not personally a fan. But a good massage can go a long way in stimulating a muscle's repair.

1) A Doctorate of Chiropractics is a nationally recognized form of holistic(drugfree) medecine.
2) D.C.'s saved you over 30 million dollars in tax money by treating injured troops with chiropractic care instead of medecine, getting them active sooner.
3) Many companies would save tons of money on BS worker's comp. claims for back injuries if sent to a D.C. instead of being medicated for months until it gets better. You pay their expenses when they're hurt.
4) The education in a D.C. college is comparable to that one would recieve getting an M.D.- we just stop before medecine enters the picture.
5) A D.C. knows the human body better than YOU ever will, after all we have to dissect more than one human body while in school.
6) Ignorant people who state that D.C.'s are the palm readers of the doctor's rank, most likely have never been to a D.C. and therefore are not qualified to speak on this subject. I challenge you to go to an M.D. and ask if visiting a Chiroporactor would be a good idea for joint and muscle pain----you will be shocked to hear his answer!

I was in a hurry and it was not the best choice of words. I apologize if I came off wrong, again I was in a hurry and in between classes and my haste came out a bit more abruptly than I intended. There aren't ignorant people as much as uninformed ideas, false stereotypes, and voices from a few bad experiences, alot of times these are expressed abruptly.

Steve- I'm w/ ya here for the most part- I'm an adjuster too and I have seen my fair share of come across my desk.. SOME Chiro's bill the **** out of clients cause they know its going to court and realize they will get paid (or agree on a final figure) @ the end of the day...(+ increase the value of their claim- if its legit) I've heard some tell what sympotoms their patients are SUPPOSED to have.. yadda yadda yadda, ONE thing I like about what I do/ who I deal with: We have something where threatment cannot be palliative- it has to be curative... curative is something that will in the NEAR future CURE the problem- Chiroprators can treat you for something forever... see all these people saying they HAVE GONE.. and WOULD LIKE TO GO AGAIN to make it better...thats palliative treatment... granted I've seen more then my share of back surgeries that didn't go as well or additional problems arose, but at the end of the day- the people payin the bills don't like to have people go to Chiros' cause they will treat forever & most have a bad rep!~
Now I have 2 buddies that are Chiros- 1 out of St. louie (I forget the name- Logan- or is that the airport in Boston I am thinkin of.. ) another went to Life in ATL... another is in Daytona, - they have said they do get people who get relief from their adjustments, but those people have that problem still- RIGHT?
On a side note= some Chiros get sidetracked and deal w/ plt. attys (Ambulance chasers) and they make themself & their profession look very bad- my girl is in her 3rd year of law school, so I'm not gunna say bad things about lawyers just yet, but every profession has its bad apples...
Hey man- IQ 99% are you a part of MENSA? ..and are you related to ******* focker... (I'd rather focus all of my attention on patient care, rather then deal w/ the beurocracy that doctors have to deal with... )
I'm just playin w/ ya man... I got respect for someone can stay in school that long, but if an MD is that close- why the hell not- ya know?

As far as IQ goes, I've tested and all that, but made the previous statement in haste, and shouldn't have. It really doesn't matter what your IQ is as much as what you do with it. Someone who is more mechanically inclined can fix a bike or car has more respect from me than someone who is a prime candidate for med school and works in a toll booth because they were too lazy to do anything with it.
When deciding to go MD or DC, I had to look at a lot of factors, and the first I didn't like was working for someone else(hospitals-none gets a private practice close to when they get out of school), then came insurance--in my area its 10X for a MD(thats why most M.D.'s in Missouri are leaving) with about roughly 2-3x the pay in most cases.
I never have liked medicine unless I really NEEDED it, and I rarely got sick. Treating a patient by gathering their symptoms then prescribing a bunch of drugs doesn't make a lot of sense in my opinion, unless the symptoms are do to bacteria, virus, or other microorganisms, drugs only mask the problem--they don't fix it.
As far as the continued care from a chiropractor, get to know a good one better. Most people abuse their bodies for long periods of time (I do it too), and it takes time to retrain the body to correct the abuse. Throw a bunch of loose paper in your car, takes 10 minutes to trash your car, now clean it up, it can take an hour to get clean.
Your everday activities also cause problems that hurt your body, getting care for a minor back ache can help avoid bigger problems that occur if left untreated.

My Girl, like Dr's, don't get their own practices right off the bat- unless involved with some shaddy bid-ness goin on, (I know 1 or 2) ... plus those LOANS she's gotta pay back ($200K-undergrad & law school) she'll be workin for a while... hoepfully she'll find her nitche.. "from da U"
Re: Tix- lets just hope I don't need to pull that card too often, but yes a lawyer watchin my back is a nice ins. policy...
Did you go to a "Brown-thumb-Chiro-school" (1 brother did and the (2nd) other didn't & (2nd) he tells me to ask (1st bro) him that.. they find it funny) = coccyx adjustments!! That must make for some interesting-in-class-relationships.. ooh your in KC- the brown thumb brother went to a school in St. Louis Misouri
Take it light EZ..

I still don't care about scores(or grades for that matter), school wasn't something I usually enjoyed, but it comes pretty easy to me, can get boring at times.
I usually get more enjoyment and challenge from physical tasks---weightlifting, sports, wheelies, and so on. That's why I love riding my RR, I have a LONG way to go before I can do what Cardwell, Starboyz Scott, Kyle, and a lot of other stunters do. After all if everyone could do it, they would.
