Future?

just got back from the video premier of crusty X. alpinestars threw an amazing bash.. best video premier ive ever been too.. soo many big names just wandering around it was ridiculous... hell i even saw ZZ TOP in the vip just chillin.

after seeing the video, and wandering the premier, seeing all the riders, women, big shot company owners, and everything.. just sorta humbled me.. i wonder if our sport will ever get that gnarly...

the fmx dirt guys are no joke... thats a whole different lifestyle then the street extreme kids...

still kind of just soakin it all in and putting it into perspective..

makes me wonder..

either way crusty 10 is by far one of the most extreme motorcycle videos ive ever seen. total awe.

our sport still has soo much to go...

Re: Future?

I think this sport has hella potential, we just need more publicity and less illegalness. I see x games in the future, anyone else with me?

Re: Future?

I agree the fighting is getting real old. Back to the original subject I see it getting bigger but not Xgames big. To get that big you have to appeal to Joe non-riding Public and they want fast stuff. Unfortunately there is only so much you can do fast and all the innovation is in slow stuff. However whare it can grow is at non-stunt motorcycle events. A fellow rider even if not a stunter can appreciate the skill and difficulty of slow stuff. I got that proven to me when we did a show at a local roadrace and the biggest cheers and whistles were for the slow stuff. That angle is where we coild grow and get more exposure.

Re: Future?

Crusty Vids are BENCHMARK! I still watch 1 & 2, those vids set X-moto OFF in a big way!

They brought out mainstream stars, mixed them up with pro-ams and let 'em rip! We will get there one day, vids like Darius' SIUIII are definately helping with the production value of vids.

Only complaint I have is, location/riding. In moto, going out to Africa or New Zealand makes for GREAT riding etc. Well, it doenst really matter where you go on a street bike, if still flat land. Sillyneck set it off riding the stairs of a stadium, Darius also does some good shots, Jason B in San Fran (if you havent seen I highly recommend!).

Thants my two cents, make it more exciting. How? dunno..

Re: Future?

Many of you do it for pleasure and thats it. But there is the people that enjoy it enough to want to go to stuntwars and compete and be on tv and make money for doing something their good at. I eventually wanna get paid to go do shows like kane and darius and pauly and warren jamez and j-beats. Why not. If you got that much talent why waste it. Who gives a crap if 15 year olds wanna ride. I started stunting at 16 and it's only getting better. Why not X-games? If you dont ever feel that you'll be that good then dont claim that its a bad idea. I'm not arguing, just simply stating my
im just tired of seeing doodle in every post sayin something negitive. but hey

Re: Future?

well personally, i dont ever see sportbikes ever hittin it as large as the dirtbike freestyle has, 99% of people dont give a flying fck if Darius can do slow wheelies. dudes like him make it look so easy that the general population is just like... ohh ok.. wow *snore* people are into speed and insane ****, that's just how it works. same thing goes for skydiving. we can make a bad *** freeflying combo vid that alot of skydivers would be impressed with, but the fact is that most people wouldnt have ANY idea how hard that **** really is. if you wanna be a superstar, get into the dirtbike/skateboard/snowboard thing, something that every 12-18 year old can do. the little fcks that doodle talks so much **** about are the ones who make all the extreme sport guys famous because they watch what went down and then go holy ****.. i have that dirtbike/skateboard, imma go out and try that!!

have you ever watched Darius ride in person?? i dont think he makes it look to easy by any means.. he has a very erratic on edge but still on top, controlled chaos style of riding. while there are some riders who are very skilled but almost too fluid and thus boring, i wouldnt throw Darius into that boat...

no i havent seen him in person riding, i was just using him as an example.. but i mean, people see these guys going what, 2-5 mph and they dont see the challenge in it. i know i didnt think it was that great back when i was all about skydiving and my friend brought some stuntin' videos to watch at the dropzone. you know what got me into sportbikes? Ghostrider. *shrugs* nuff said.

Re: Future?

Yeah Crusty X was pretty sick!!! The Crusty series has always tried to raise the bar and bring in new stuff and people. There is a certain level of mayhem that is captured in a Crusty video along with a much larger following than our sport. If anyone is getting paid to ride their bikes however they want it is Brian Deegan, Ronnie Faist, Seth Enslow, Mad Mike Jones, Travis Pastrana, Twitch, hell even Bubba. Thats all there is to it. Plus they eat it left and right all those guys are harder than a lot of other extreme athletes. They get my respect.

I fully agree.. our team is looking for local exposure and we are trying to think of events that Joe Q Public would give a damn about us @. We thought like an airshow or some ****... but often it's hard to organize.. Big bike meets are always good though... all the other riders are going to look.. and appreciate it.

i agree with you when you say that the average joe doesnt understand, nor care about slow speed tricks and in order to really get the public to watch you have to push the envelope and bump the speeed yadda yadda...

ive had this same talk with soo many people ive lost count.

i think if the public can learn to appreciate fast stuff, freestyle stuff.. then they can also learn to appreciate slow speeed technical stuff as well.. its really up to the rider though...

if your a ride who only does slow speed technical stuff and thats it.. well then in my opinion you are handicapping yourself.

Re: Future?

yeah kane. believe me there's alot of daydreamers in alot of different extreme sports out there that are convinced that their **** is white hot and that they're gonna be world famous one day. fact of the matter is though if you're not riskin your ***, you probably wont. i mean, who's more famous, Evil Kneivel or the safest motorcyclist in the world? the simple fact that i have no idea who the safest dude would be answers that question. its the crazy *** motherfckers that are gonna get noticed and get paid (if they dont die first)
