im gonna have to disagree with the "its not as difficult" comment. its just not as dangerous. I have always likened our sport to flatland bmx, where-as FMX is like bmx dirt jumping. Flatland takes sooo much skill and finess to be at the top, where-as bmx dirt jumping just takes big ***** (dont get me wrong, it takes a lot of skill, but just not the same level of control and finess). same with our sport. the top guys display an amazing amount of control over their bike. in my opinion, FMX takes more ***** and courage than an outright display of finess.
now dont think im hatin on FMX, or calling it easy. i possess neither the ***** NOR the skill on a dirt bike to do that chit. I love what they do, and i own several vids.
diddo bmx dirt jumpers
NOW think, how many times have YOU watched flatland verses bmx dirt jumping? i have always preferred flatland, but when was the last time flatland was on TV? couldnt tell ya. when was the last time bmx dirt jumping was? only every X-games.
now, theres always the wild card (my personal fav) bmx street course. and there are events like the starboyz throw that kinda throw that element in, and the crowd seems to really love it. you know like last man standing, last man sitting, and their obstacle course, the crowd loves that because it breaks the monotony(to them not us). i think that kind of original thinking will make what we do more sell-able to the public (if thats what you want).
i love this sport and would be happy either way (undergroung or making money at it)
thats my more like a buck o five but whatever.......

Only complaint I have is, location/riding. In moto, going out to Africa or New Zealand makes for GREAT riding etc. Well, it doenst really matter where you go on a street bike, if still flat land. Sillyneck set it off riding the stairs of a stadium, Darius also does some good shots, Jason B in San Fran (if you havent seen I highly recommend!).
Thants my two cents, make it more exciting. How? dunno..

Thanks for the props bro. Yea more people need to get it off the flat land. I've trying to do other **** as often as possible to see if this can go anywhere else. where's the small lip back flip at? someone better do it. the bike needs maybe a speed bump w/ all the power how sick would that be in the super market parkinglot ????

i feel that the sport came become huge. the key is to put butts in the seats. that what the promoters,sponsors,etc.. what and need. there are alot of people watching what happens at the show in texas. if you ask anyone that races professionaly (and ask them to be honest) they will tell you that they are entertainers. racing is a small part of it. it is the same with us. you need to entertain the fans. a christ is a easy trick but the fans love to see it. give them high energy, excitement, personality and they will come back to see more. clear channel motorsports is the #1 promoter in the world. watch one of their events. app. 2 1/2 hours long, high energy, not much down time, things like that. i will be racing in houston the first weekend in jan.. ralient stadium will be sold out 50,000 + fans goin nuts. that is what the promoters want butts in the seats.

Also, "real" sponsors have trouble biting on this sport with "real" funding. With no influx of some serious funding ($$$$$) it's tough to achieve many of the goals people hope to reach. Sad but true. I hope as much as anyone that things will eventually blow up for those who deserve it.
