Re: ICE STUNT Competition? (PHOTO ATTACHED)

I would recommend doing it on Sunday 01/30/04 in the afternoon. While it is still warmer and light out.

Most people usually have plans on superbowl sunday.

and 6pm on a friday is not really going to work, doesn't give enough time for those of us working, and its colder and darker out. (even with the lights its a pain, and more dangerous stunting on the ice in the dark...I hate snowbanks.

making it on a sunday will also give people time to maybe come out on the sat before to practice a little. Plus I know section 8 will be coming from appleton,

Jesse

Yep, yep Tom. I agree on 1/29 or 1/30 as not to conflict too much. Superbowl sunday, Chicago cycle show, Indy trade show........pretty much wipes out Feb.

[QUOTE=ckcrew]Actually you can set up a cheap *** zamboni type thing like they used to run up at Tomah for the ice races. It was like a drag for a 4 wheeler with big rubber flaps dragging off the back and a 55 gal drum of water trickling on the ice. Didn't work too bad! Has to be F%&#ing cold though or else you just got smooth standing water.

we built a 35 gallon drum zamboni with some 1" tubing under it cut about every 2" fitted to a propane tank. just used some garden edging attatched to a 1" tube from the tank with drilled holes every inch or so to smooth the ice and spread the water that works sweet on my buddys lake

Re: ICE STUNT Competition? (PHOTO ATTACHED)

we went out to test the screws today, way too much water on the ice, and the top layer of ice was honey combed and crappy.....but i have confidence with our setups and i believe wheelies wont be a problem!!!

Here is a link to an ice racing forum. Check out post 'Screws'. Its geared towards moto tires, but it gives some useful info to better understand how ice tires work. Thanks MotoBill.
