Well that may have been the way I started out but after crashing awhole lot I said ***** the scraping and worked on brake control and keepin em slow..That was the best move I made this summer cuz when I came back to scraping the shiat was easy..
So learn that clutch, learn to catch it with the back brake, get to where you can keep it on the idle and once you can do that 12vz, parkin em..etc etc is very easy..
Easier said than done but well worth the effort if you are looking to improve in this game..
Cheers

haha.. gotta hate that. I have debated putting a pin in my kill switch but that kill switch really comes in handy in certain oh **** moments... you can really minimize damage to yourself and the bike with the killswitch sometimes.

smurfkilla,i wanting to get a 12 o clock bar with my xmas money coming up,should i buy the bar and install it because even if i dont learn to 12s yet i want it there just in case i go back clutching it too hard and not having much brake control,i know it can toss me off if i hit the bar sideways but i think id rather have it there than not there, because if you hit the tail on my bike its at like 1 o clock, and it would prolly loop backwards on me.

i always hit the kill switch as a safety precaution.....when the bike hits the ground on 2 wheels, if it's on run it might start up and ride away on its own......only when i feel as if it might get ugly is when ill use the kill switch...

Samn thing happened to a friend and he had his helmet on too, his helmet got a chip in it right infront of his mouth from where it hit his Scott's dampener.
Wouldn't be a bad idea to take a dremel or something else and sand/grind down the kill switch so that it is flush with the area that surrounds it. You can still use it to turn off the bike but you have to actually push it in like a button so there will be much less chance of killing the motor from just brushing across it again.

been there done that. However on the flip side, I always keep mine activated for reasons like the other day at practice. I was doing faster combos in second, went to Ballerina (what we call it, right foot on left peg with left foot over the windscreen), when bam, I clicked it out of gear with my foot on accident. It threw me off the side at 60 mph. I already crashed once like that a couple of years ago, so this time I just pulled in my clutch and hit the kill switch. It took me a good 500 ft to stop (my feet were hott, lol).
Just always be careful not to hit it with your feet too.
