Re: crash cages

FI you can take the hoop off in 10 minutes and have it all back (clearance) and still keep the sliders.

Re: crash cages

I got an FI cage and I almost crashed because of leaning into a turn too much at 50mph. The back of the bike swung out from behind me and I almost ate it. You can take the loop part of it out that goes underneath the bike in a couple of minutes if you want to hit the twisties and still keep the sliders on which are pretty long. Then throw back on when you want to rock the streets.

or spend ten minutes taking the loop off...FI is the only cage that has this option. all other cages (including the FI with the loop on) will bottom out with any aggressive riding.

Re: crash cages

if you aren't looking for a serious 100% stunt parking lot cage, then go with the street stunt cage from POWERS ( powersbikeworx.com ) ..... it's sleek as hell, and tough too. We've had them done for a while now, but I'll take some pics so you can see what I mean ..... gimme 30 minutes

Re: crash cages

MXDCAGES.COM

check out the track cage on the front page. dont mess with a loop that hits the ground everytime there is a dip or a speed bump. dont mess with a full stunt cage if you are looking to lean over your bike. powers makes a good STUNT cage but not one to drag knee with. 905 is the same as powers as far as clearance. most people that rep FI are getting paid.

i dont think anyone is getting paid to rep any of the cage manufacturers...at least i'm not!

and yes, i've checked out the 'track cage' and while it looks pretty nice and looks like it wont hit, from the pics, it doesnt look as tough as any of the other cages, and doesnt look like it is much more protective than frame sliders, or extended sliders.....but obviously i havent seen one in person or tried one out!

personally, i'd rather have a tough cage for stunting that can also be used for aggressive riding as well...and for me, the Freestyle Ingenuity cage allows me to toss my bike without worry, or spend 10 minutes to remove the loop and hit the track...

my two cents, i'll be interested to hear feedback on htose cages once they have been tested as much as the Freestyle ones have been....

the only way you're gonna drag this "street cage" is if you can drag an average frame slider to the street .... which I dont see happening. These "street cages" are made for people who race and for riders who don't want the FULL cage ... these don't have any bottom pieces at all to scrape in turns or twisties

Re: crash cages

getting paid involves $$$

my agreement with Freestyle Ingenuity was formed AFTER i bought a cage and a scrape bar from them way back...but to answer your question, yes i do receive my cages and bars from FI at no cost.

however, the big difference here is that i have been approached by other manufacturers about receiving free cages, etc, but i CHOSE Freestyle Ingenuity for a variety of reasons, the number 1 reason being i believe in their product and i think that it is the best.

my response to the cages that are either street or stunt is: why buy a cage that does only one thing? buy a freestyle cage and have something that does its job when you are stunting, but still allows you to ride track days with only ten minutes of work!!!

those track cages only look like reinforced frame sliders to me...what additional coverage do they provide for the bike that frame sliders dont cover?? and if that additional coverage is the case covers and plastic, they will scrape when you are leaned over.

buy ONE cage and stunt it as well as do track days with it: Freestyle Ingenuity

ive seen sliders snap off more than once from a bad crash, leaving bikes totalled. with 2 mounting points, the sliders will NOT break off. with our track cages.....when the bike is laying on the cage itself, the cases are about 1/2 cm from the ground. unless you are scraping cases and the exhaust, you will not scrape the cage.

and heres my response to why buy a cage that does only one thing.....

if you are a real stunter, then there is NO way you are using your stunt bike on a track. therefore you should buy a stunt only cage.

if you do track days with your stunt bike then you are not a real stunter, cuz no track would allow any stunt bike because it simply would not be safe. this is why you would buy a track cage.....protection of a cage, but versitility of sliders
